My husband and I booked a night here the day of, because we decided to stay an additional night in the city. I didn't see before booking that it was a shared bathroom/toilet situation. It wasn't as dirty as it could have been, but maybe we were lucky. My husband told me that the mattress was dirty under the fitted sheet, but I didn't check. There is no sign with the name of the hostel. To get in the building, we called the "receptionist" who doesn't have a desk anywhere. He's somewhere in the building and you call his phone number if you need towels or something. He was nice but he smelled strongly, like he hadn't showered in a while and wasn't wearing deodorant. Sorry to write this out, man. What I really disliked was the fact that our room was a loft. So you enter the room and there's a small space with a little wardrobe and desk, a window, and the mattress is actually on top of a brief flight of stairs. The bed is right at the edge of the stairs. I was worried about falling over the mattress and in the stairs, so my husband slept on that side. That was unbelievable that someone would risk installing guests like that without caring of the human, legal, and financial consequences of someone falling. Oh well. Welcome to New York!

Strange smell in room and not really clean. No elevator.

Very expensive! The room is super small without anyservice. It was not easy to contact the hostel manager when we arrived and need the support.

It was exactly what I needed at a very reasonable price.

The room is cozy and even with shared bathrooms, I never had an issue with waiting long for one. As well, the location is prime! Stayed a night for a concert and Madison Square Garden was only 2 minutes away.

This was my first time staying in a 'hostel' and was my only affordale option. Thankfully, I had my own very small locked bedroom, which was clean and comfortable enough and served it's purpose during my three night stay- a safe place to keep my things and a clean, comfortable place to sleep. The shared bathroom situation wasn't bad either. There were a couple of bathrooms on the floor above me. I made sure to get up and shower early each morning to avoid any wait. By the evening, the couple of times that I did need to use the restroom at the property, it was not the cleanest, but not horrendous either. I recommend nearby Gardenia Deli for meals- brought back several breakfasts and dinners from there to eat in the shared kitchen and it was always affordable and good.

The room was very small, with no reading light and no nightstand of any kind. The bed had only one small, thin blanket (roughly the size of a blanket on a toddler bed) so I was fairly cold during the night. The shared bathroom was dirty. Overall, if all you need is a bed to sleep in and nothing else, it was OK. It is not a "comfortable" place to stay as an older person.

I wish you had elevator, because I was on the 5th floor and the air conditioning remote wasn’t working, so the room was hot.

Convenient location. Accessible to everything one might want or need. Although the sleeping space was snug, the bed was comfortable. Maybe a separate indoor lounging spot would be helpful.

Overall it was a great stay. The location worked for what I needed it for, and it was easy to find. There's one bathroom on every floor and they clean it daily. Make sure to bring your own toiletries for showering, as they only provide you a towel. The water pressure could be a little higher but it was fine other than that. One request I do have is to give a little bit larger blanket. I'm a tall guy and it didnt cover much of my body lol

A shareable bathroom for the entire floor. Like 9 or ten mini bedrooms on the floor. No lobby. No attendance. Nobody to talk to. Bedroom was 8inX8in with a full bed for two people. No room to breath. The worst disappointment ever. I left and booked at Hilton around the corner.

I love the concept of the properly. Very cozy and comfortable bed. I am very pleased. The only thing i didn't liked is there is almost no lighting outside. But i felt safe in the building. The staff was amazing. They treated me so well.
