We had a lovely two-night stay at Stable Cottage and absolutely loved how peaceful it was. Surrounded by countryside, it felt like a proper escape from everyday life.
The cottage itself was really cosy and comfortable, with two king-size beds. It was incredibly quiet at night, so we all slept really well. The living room was perfect for relaxing in after a day out, and the kitchen was well equipped. We also really appreciated the breakfast provisions left for us, including cereals, yoghurt, fruit, tea and coffee.
The location was brilliant too. We could walk into the village in less than 10 minutes, so we didn't need to get back in the car in the evenings. We had pizza and pints at The Bell on Broadway one night and excellent pub food at the 5 Dials the next.
It was also perfect for our dog, Ivan. Pets stay free, and there was plenty of space for him to enjoy the surroundings, which made it a really easy dog-friendly break.
There’s lots to explore nearby, from National Trust properties and beautiful Somerset villages to antique shops and charity shops, but we loved knowing that after a day out we could come back to such a peaceful and comfortable cottage.
We'd definitely stay at Stable Cottage again – a lovely spot for a quiet countryside escape.

Our stay at Stable Cottage was absolutely lovely. Communication before and during our stay was excellent, making everything so easy and stress-free. The beds were incredibly comfortable – honestly the comfiest, biggest beds I’ve ever slept in – and there are two of them! My Mum also commented on how wonderful hers was also. The cottage was spotlessly clean, beautifully equipped with everything we needed, and the thoughtful breakfast treats were a really lovely touch and thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely love to stay here again when we’re next in the area. Highly recommended!
