It was clean and spacious in a good central location.
You were not able to adjust the air conditioning and the rooms were freezing. It was also across the road from a youth hostel which got very loud some nights.

Location was very good & appropriate for our first visit to Darwin. Central area easy to navigate for shopping, restaurants & other places to eat. Great walking/riding/scooter area. Some attractions nearby.
Very, very cold in the apartment. We were advised not to turn off the air conditioning at all so found ourselves outside most of the time because of the extreme cold in the apartment.
Thought it would have been better & much more convenient if we could have dealt with reception rather than email/SMS as advised.

Interconnecting rooms and close to Mitchell Street.
The lady at the Darwin esplanade hotel at reception was extremely rude when I asked a question about a swipe card and parking. Said it had nothing to do with her as I booked through booking.com.When she refused to assist me, I proceeded to ask another guest to press my floor level I was staying in, she yelled across the foyer saying I was breaching security by asking one of the hotel's guest to press the level. I was highly embarrassed as I was a quest at the hotel, which the receptionist already knew as she saw my family check in. The kitchette and bathroom is old.. There was only 4 pool lounges which is ridiculous considering the amount of guests at hotel, we saw so many guests wanting to utilise the pool, but just left because there were no chairs.
