Exceptional

Loveliest place to stay in Ella with the best and frendliest host. The road to the hotel was tricky, but there is also a walking 7 minutes path to the city center, so there is no need to take a tuk tuk or walk all the way around. The view was stunning, the room is spacious and clean and the breakfast was very delicious. Would recommend Ella Rock side inn as an awesome place to stay with kids.

The best view in Ella

Very good view from the rooms to Ella Rock. A very kind and helpfull owner. We really loved the balcony and view. Big enough rooms for family's of 4. A short walk through a nature path to the main road in the city, it took us 2,5 min to get to the road with kids, from there, there is a 2-5 min walk to the restaurants. The normal road to the hotel is too narrow for cars, so you have to take a tuk tuk to get there.

Just a tip that we forgot to tell the owner: The bathroom needs a shower curtain or a bathroom scraper, so the floor want get so wet and slippery after a shower, that would be really nice to have. 🙂

Lovely staff, beautiful views, definitely recommend!

The staff are all so lovely, and go above and beyond to help you! Thank you for making such a special effort for our anniversary at no extra cost, very kind! The views were amazing from the private balconies and the terrace setting for breakfast was also beaut with a view of Ella Rock. Breakfast is also very nice!

The only negative would be that the shortcut walk to town (5 mins) is via a path with so many leeches, don’t walk this way after or during the rain (I was bitten through my trousers!!). Otherwise the walk is a solid 10/15 mins up and down hill. However not enough reason not to stay here, just hop in the on site Tuktuk for 500 or so into town - definitely still absolutely recommend staying here it’s so lovely.

Our favourite hotel in Sri Lanka! This place is absolutely gorgeous, the view from the big balcony of Ella’s rock is stunning. Staff were so kind and welcoming - we stayed for 4 nights but wish we could’ve stayed longer! The short cut made it a really quick walk to the town centre so the location was great, breakfast and tea/coffee were amazing too

Amazing!

The location was really good (there was a shortcut to the village) and the view was amazing. Balcony was big and room was comfortable. The owner and staff were really friendly. They offered a laundry service and even money exchange (with good rate). Managed to get us a transfer to Ella with reasonable price. It was one of the best hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka and I highly recommend it.

Very good

We stayed for 1 night, Manju and his staff were very friendly gave tips on what to do in the area. A bit tricky to find so use google maps. If walking it’s a bit of a steep climb but manageable. Tuk Tuks can make it up the hill but would avoid driving a car up. There is also a shortcut option they will show you to walk into town too. Room was spacious and clean and lovely views both from our balcony and from the dining/bar area.

Staff, Service, Location is exceptional... Really value for Money Food are wonderful and neatly serve Wil visit this place once again for sure

Only issue I saw is the raod access to the property. Road is narrow, slopy and damaged in some locaions.

stay was okay, but staffs could have a good customer service

The place is near by the Ella town. just walking distance. bed is comfy. clean. we can see ella rock from the balcony.

The doors dont work properly. some doesnot have locks. We had a late check-in around 8 pm. But when we asked about a late check-out, it was bit dramatic. we paid extra. anyway it was fine. Breakfast was dull for the price. we could have a better bfast from the town instead.

Amazing!!!!

The property is in a STUNNING location, the staff are so so friendly, it is a small family run the place. This is my second time here, just 10 min walk to town, the rooms and balcony are lovely overlooking the incredible Ella Rock. Breakfast and dinner was AMAZING too!! With both western and Sri Lankan dishes available.

In the wet season it’s tricky to walk up to the town and back at night because there is no lighting. But you can always get a tuktuk for 100-200 rupees no problem.

Amazing view. Big and tasty breakfast. Clean room in amazing area.

Staff in hotel is very friendly they arange tuktuku for free to main road many times. The view from the hotel is just amazing - you wake up and See Ella Rock. Breakfast was too big for 2 people and very tasty. Room was clean and bed comfortable.

Everything was fine. Nothing to dislike. Fully recommend.
