We chose this hotel for the swimming pool it was really relaxing and for me and my son it was easy to get to lovely food. Bed was super comfy and hotel was clean. Thank you

This was our second stay at Kings Manor Hotel, and we loved every minute of it. The rooms are spacious and clean, and our bathroom was a nice big size as well. The staff at the hotel are all SUPER friendly and helpful, more than at other hotels we have stayed at. A huge shoutout to the staff in the breakfast area and also for dinner in the restaurant. The food was exceptional as well, and the breakfast buffet is one of the best we have had. The choice of food is also excellent. We also LOVE that there is a bus stop right outside the hotel where you can jump on the bus and it takes you right into central Edinburgh, with no parking or hassle required. The bus is only £2 for adults and £1 per child single ticket, or you can get a very good value family ticket for £10.50 and ride anywhere on any bus for as many times as you like. The hotel is also located in a great area by Portobello Beach and Musselburgh Beach, where there is a gorgeous sandy beach and some nice family restaurants. Lastly, the pool in the hotel is fantastic. It's clean and airy, and fairly warm. My daughter loved swimming there a few times during our stay. All in all, we loved our stay at the Kings Manor Hotel and we would highly recommend it to any family or traveler to Edinburgh.

I was for three nights in this hotel and i can say that is one of the best hotels there . In this hotel you can enjoy the sauna sttiming , swiming pool and the gym as well and you don’t have ro pay for them coz are included on the price . The staf was nice and friendly .

There isn’t too much wrong with the Kings Manor but it isn’t easy to love this place, which has a feel of the 1970s about it. The location is pretty good if you want somewhere that is easy to access by car. It has free parking and is on a bus route. The greeting in reception was friendly and helpful and the directions to my room were clear. The building has been extended over the years and doesn’t have any kind of atmosphere. The door to the room was quite scuffed and scruffy. It was one of those old-fashioned hollow ones with a cheap veneer surface. Definitely not sound proof! The room was compact but had everything I needed, including a very nice, modern shower room. The room was clean and the bed was OK, without being luxurious. On checking in, I was required to reserve a table for breakfast. A sign on the Reception desk rather sternly warns guests that, if they are late for their reserved slot, it is unlikely that staff will be able to accommodate them later. That being the case, it seems a pity that they can’t get the dining room open at the advertised time! The breakfast was fine although I never managed to find the advertised porridge. Check out was smooth, speedy and friendly. All in all, the hotel is OK as a stop-off but it feels characterless and stuck in a previous decade. The building extension hasn’t done anything to generate any feeling of warmth or cosiness, although the staff certainly do their best to mitigate this.

Well equipped single room with a comfy double bed. Unfortunately wifi wasn't connecting on the evening of my stay. connected on the mobile in the morning so probably just the amount of users the evening before, but only disappoint of my short stay.

This has to be by a country mile the best hotel of best western that I have have ever stayed, the hotel is stunning, I am staying as buying a property and had to stay on longer it was no problem with staff and arranged with no fuss. The gym and pool excellent and the bar and food outstanding. I can’t say enough positives about the hotel.

Stay to visit family over Christmas

It was a comfortable stay with an excellent and spacious room. Check in was simple and effective especially given the timings and date. The staff could not have been more helpful. The pool was another delight!

Room was very small for the price I paid. Walls were very thin, I could hear the people next door breathing as they slept along with their conversations and tv early in the morning.

Staff was helpful and friendly. On-site restaurant was especially good and breakfast buffet was consistently good.

Room was great, area was conveniently close to brunstane train station, the restaurant food was surprisingly decent but the breakfast left a bit to be desired.

We had a lovely stay , the room was nice , the beds were comfortable and was serviced every day . The breakfast was very good with a big selection of hot and cold food and that staff were very friendly.

We enjoyed our stay here in Portobello best western. Hotel is clean, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. We would have enjoyed the adjoining gym if we had more time. Had a lovely walk to the beach and up Portibello where some lovely shops are and had a latte before the walk back. Room was quite small but we were comfortable, and clean. No fridge which we are used to having and a complimentary water always nice. I think perhaps some new carpet and paint will freshen the hotel rooms and hallways but really was nice as is, perhaps consider for future for sure.

Booked for a nearby wedding, they managed to check us in early and even helped when the sole fell off one of our shoes. Staff were great and the room was clean, can't fault it.

The staff on check in great :) staff on check out couldn’t be bothered. Room ok I travel most weeks and i have to say the breakfast was absolutely rubbish. So glad I didn’t stay for dinner.

We stayed just the night. The room was quite spacious for a king sized bed and a twin in the same room. The biggest let down was the cleanliness. Husband went into the shower the next morning and used the bath gel, which was a home to the most foul smelling mold concoction. The room smelled like burning sulphur and made it difficult to breathe. Called the reception that sent someone over immediately who only poured out the previous content and just replaced it with the new soap mix. They did nothing to address the sulphur smell and said nothing else but "that's so weird" we have not had it before. The reception also just noted it down without really offering an apology or an alternative room. We checked out super early around 6-7 am. Such a shame, the hotel should do better around hospitality and cleanliness.

The staff were so accommodating and made our stay as enjoyable as possible.

I would not stay here again. The room smelled like smoke and there were stains everywhere. The sheets and pillow cases had tears in them. The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything above, below and beside you. The staff had little to no knowledge of simple questions, like an exit to the parking lot.
