Stayed during the RSA conference, which does not allow for many affordable options in the city. The hotel was clean and relatively comfortable. The area is ok, not much to do, but a short Uber from most places. Only issue was street noise or elevator noise which could be heard from most of the rooms (there were several of us staying), but over all a good hotel in San Francisco.

The room was adequate in size. The view was amazing from our 24th floor corner room with windows giving a 180deg view of the bay and surrounding mountains.

Rooms held a smell. Had to be moved rooms because my initial room smelled like cigarettes, my second room smelt like old cleaning products; but I just dealt with it because I was only there a few nights. Hair in tub or on the floor in the bathroom in both rooms. :\

Easy access to cabs etc and right downtown. Cafe in house has very good sandwiches which was helpful. Wish the wind was less :( but the pool deck was nice and comfy chairs. Would have loved to use the pool but wrong time of year.

The hotel is in a safe area that is very import since sadly a lot of areas in SF are very unsafe. Not to many rest around, but is Next to starbucks! Good parking, if you ride an SUV you are fine here.

Early check in fee??? 35.00 to check in 45 minutes before 3pm. 30.00 for breakfast?? Paid extra for a corner room with a view. That was the only thing enjoyable.

We stayed two nights. The room was fine. Everything was clean. The hotel/maybe just room/floor was quite old and could use some updating but otherwise the place was clean and well maintained.

Customer service is awful. The workers ignore you and give attitude. At check in, I told the guy behind the counter that I had a parking ticket to the garage. He asked me for it and said the room key would give us access in and out. So I gave him the parking garage ticket. Then at check out, I went to do so and the lady waved her hand for me to leave. So I asked if I’d need the room key to get out…she said NO and waved us along. Sure enough, got stuck exiting the parking garage. And when we GOT out of the car to tell them….the manager gave us a prepaid ticket to get out and asked how this happened. The girl who had just waved us off eye rolled and called me a (profanity) for telling the manager exactly what happened. The cleaning staff was friendly though, always a hi when passing by. Room was clean but pillows suck

Family trip to San Francisco. This hotel was perfect location for us conveniently located to the trolley and less than 3 miles from Padres stadium. Staff was SO nice and the hotel was very clean!! We will definitely stay again.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was easy, if expensive, and was mush appreciated. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast, although not included. was worth paying for and staying for. Would definitely consider going back.

The room was standard and a little outdated, coffee maker and fridge. The pool had a nice view but was only open during certain hours. Fire Alarm went off during our last night, most of the hotel guests were evacuated via the alarm at 2 am. There was nobody knocking on doors and guiding people where to go, just an alarm, five minutes after the firemen left. Guests were still piling out of the stairwell confused as to what happened. No staff to guide them back to their rooms. I was not comped a room for the night in the future. I was not apologized for the interruption of sleep, subpar service for a very expensive five days. The bed was the only thing that was comfortable. The AC was set on high, it was warmer outside at 50 degrees than inside of the hotel. Would not reccommend 2/10. Date of Stay 3-19/23-2024

Safe, secure site with abundant choices for drinks onsite, smaller selection on food, but each one of the 3 travelers found something for late night. $40 parking was secure and with in and out privileges.

After a long day of sightseeing in San Francisco and looking forward to a nice shower to clean off all the city dirt, while in the shower I realize there was no body soap left in the bottle. It was completely empty! I called out to my husband and asked him to call housekeeping to bring up some soap and there was no answer. After several tries to housekeeping without success he called the front desk and again after several tries they finally answered. They said that they will bring up the soap in 10 minutes. I waited in the shower for over 10 minutes and no one came. Luckily I had a small hotel soap in my sundry bag. When I came out of the shower I tried calling both housekeeping and the front desk and there was no answer! This was very disappointing! The next morning I shared my experience with the hotel manager and he apologized and promised to refill the body soap. When we got back from another day of sightseeing the body soap bottle was still empty! Unbelievable! I went downstairs immediately and asked for the manager again and of course there was a shift change so it was a different manager and I had to explain the entire situation again. He told me that he will personally bring up the soap along with vouchers for a free breakfast. A short while later the bell hop bright up the breakfast vouchers and afterwards a maid replaced the body soap. Will not stay here again.

The hotel and conference centers are in good condition, no bad smells in our room or any of our friends rooms. Housekeeping staff was responsive and helpful. Front desk staff’s arguing with me about what type of room I booked (single vs double) even after showing them my email confirmation, and the lack of any ventilation in the bathroom keep this from being a 5 star review

Shower had tons of hair on the wall. Mold in the shower wall grout Breakfast buffet price was astronomically high for poorly heated eggs and sausages. The $5 breakfast cost $70 for 2 people.

the only reason it has one star is because I paid a premium for a King Corner-View Room. They gave me a regular King without a corner view.... the photos while booking were very deceptive and included corner view windows.

Very central in the City. You don’t need a car. Great way to see the city by foot. Loved our stay. If it wasn’t for the lobby renovation, I would have given them top marks.

Its a vary clean, friendly place to stay, but at times there are lots of homelessness, and drug users but they have a well dressed guard at the front, I did loved my time there. Beautiful views of the city on the higher floors. Id definitely would stay there again.

We had a delightful overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway . From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was seamless and swift, setting a positive tone for our stay. The room, along with the bathroom, was in impeccable condition—spotlessly clean and well-maintained, which truly made us feel comfortable and at ease. The entire experience was hassle-free, including the check-out process, which was just as quick and efficient as our check-in. This stay has solidified our preference for IHG hotels, and we're already looking forward to our next visit. Their commitment to guest satisfaction and cleanliness standards is commendable. Hotel was nice for the price. Great central location. Close to cable car. The only frustrating thing about this stay was staff stated no rooms ready at 4 pm after calling about an early 2 pm check in. Staff was not very friendly about this either. Normal check in time is 3 pm stayed at hotel. Knowing this build room in if your depending on your room to get ready for an event.
