I checked in around 5pm and the room he gave me smelled like cigarettes 🚬 it was horrible! He gave me another room without a discount! Not good service

All was pretty good except very little continental breakfast. They had Poptarts with NO Toaster. The Biggest issue was the Ice Machine! It had Black Specs in the Ice We Suspect was Mold of some sort. Needs to be Cleaned.

The motel is in desperate need of updating! Not only was the carpet and blind outdated, there was a chunk of concrete missng under the carpet (about the size of a baseball). The blind was too small for the window allowing a great deal of light from the parking area to stream in the room. The shower was poorly plumbed, with the diverter valve connected backwards (cold water supply connected to the hot). Where the shower head went through the wall, the tile was gouged, leaving a gaping hole around the pipe. Since the room was poorly lit, it was difficult to determine just how clean it was but there were no significant issues noted. The staff who did the check in was pleasant and helpful. The person working at checkout gave no greeting or bothered to ask how the stay went. This was not worth the money. There are plenty of other option in Charlottesville. Strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Front desk staff was exceptional. Hotel is ok, a/c / heating unit was loud. Main issue I had with hotel was with management as a baby bat was wedged on windowsill and management refused to allow me to open locked window to save the bat.

This is one of two go-to places for me when I visit Charlottesville and want to make it an economical trip. Excellent place to stay! It has come a long way since I was a cab driver in town and done a complete 180 of what it used to be like. The people are nice, the beds are clean and comfortable, everything made it a very enjoyable stay. The only thing they could improve would be water pressure but I have a feeling that has more to do with the shower nozzles than the actual pressure in the lines. Maybe a quick vinegar dip once a month or so would help. Other than that, A++ experience!

The room looked newly remodeled and was clean. Bed was real comfortable and plenty of space. It was also very close to JPJ which made getting to the concert easier

Cons: Noisy area. Overpriced. Musty smelling rooms. Loud banging doors when people come and go from their rooms. Pros:Close proximity to Airport. Availability during high demand. Complimentary (2) bottles of water.

We were in town for the DMB concert and when we arrived at the hotel our room wasn’t quite ready. The staff worked diligently to get our room ready within 45 minutes of our arrival. Location is close to many amenities

I'm not a hard person to please when it comes to staying at a hotel. All I ask is one simple thing, wherever I go and that is that the room is clean. I don't need a ton of amenities, preferential treatment, etc. I just ask that if I'm paying you good money to sleep in a bed, that the room is clean and one of the biggest issues is NO PESTS. Roaches are a sign of filth, plain and simple and if you find them in your room, then clearly cleaning is at your lowest priority. We booked this place for 11/10-11/12 at a ridiculous rate of $633 because of the Dave Matthews Band Concerts in town. Ironically, this was our emergency booking as we had already had booked with the Royal Inn months ago for this weekend, a few blocks away. We entered that room and took photos of the roach nymphs on their bathroom door and left within 6 mins of checking in. We rebooked with this Super 8 via Expedia in an emergency rush, knowing they were going to charge nearly triple the usual rate but that was fine as long as we didn't have to deal with pest and vermin. The first night seemed ok, we checked in late, slept and woke up the next morning and went on with our day. We came back late last night however and there was a nice little roach on the dresser above the fridge, trying to make it's way to our pizza we brought back in. I chased it behind the mini fridge and found a cache of them and a roach trap. So clearly, this was an ongoing matter. Hotel wouldn't move us and didn't offer a refund.

After coming back to our from getting some dinner, I picked up a bag from the floor and there were 3 bugs under that scattered behind the bench next to where my bag was. Upon further inspection, my friend found 4 more bugs crawling on the wall on the other side on the room. We reported it to the man working at the front desk immediately, got a refund on the room and stayed at a Hotel! We’ll Never stay at a Super 8 again!

The hotel is so close to the theater where the Virginia Film Festival is taking place. Also, only 3 miles away from the Tapawingo movie pre-party. It was just the perfect place to stay. The man at the front desk was so so nice and accommodating. Very sweet and congenial. I was also pleasantly surprised at the photos of the room, actually look like the room. My room is spotless, the beds were tightly made and super clean, the bathroom is spotless, too. I am a germ Afobe, so I should know. I’ve been traveling a lot in the last 10 years, and I’m disappointed every single time. This is the first time in 10 years that I have not been disappointed or grossed-out by filth & mold or felt threatened by my surroundings . No kidding. It was very nice.

In comparison to other hotels, this one provided more value to me for the money. Staff was very helpful. I don't generally partake in hotel breakfasts (not a fan of powdered eggs) so the lack of a hot breakfast here was okay with me. Internet was realiable, bed was comfortable, room was clean, TV, and shower good. Ice machine only on first floor, but next to elevator, so not a problem. I'd stay here again.
