Excellent stay. Will stay there again if in the area.

Comfortable and quiet. Excellent breakfast! Close to John Paul Jones arena.

Meets basic needs in a pinch, but manage your expectations.

The location was perfect for me to get downtown and to Barracks to see a play and catch up with friends.

The room could use a new coat of paint. I was disappointed in the quality of the room based on the price per night. I walked into the bathroom and saw hair all over the floor. Once that was cleaned, I noticed there was more hair in the shower. I doubt I will stay at this property again.

Breakfast was wonderful, fresh and well equipped.

Very nice lobby area for sitting. The area has alot of character.

Wood work has alot of nicks & dings, could use some touching up to make it look much better.

This was a very unpleasant experience. This hotel barely rates a 2 star hotel.

The bed was comfortable

The furniture in the suite (sofa, chairs) were stained and shabby. The heating unit was loud and rattled all night and the walls were vibrating. It was so loud that I could not sleep. The light fixture in the bedroom did not work. Very sterile and uninviting unit. Bathroom sink stand falling apart. We had changed rooms because the first room given to us had a very bad smell. The furniture there was also stained and shabby. We left after one night- canceling the next night’s reservation with the help of Booking.com.

Very comfortable and easy checkin

Staff was so friendly and helpful, fantastic breakfast buffet, very clean and quiet room.

I honestly couldn’t find anything I didn’t like .

Nice not being in a traditional hotel. Made our stay in Charlottesville feel a little more special.

Breakfast was very good. Comfortable bed.

Carpet in hallway needed replacing. It was torn, but they are in process of some remodels so this may be taken care of soom.

The indoor pool

Was very noisy outside during the night. Not sure why there was loud traffic? AC was blowing directly on us. Had to put something over it to block the cold air.

Beautiful hotel. Nice people. Good value.

Breakfast was excellent. Pat the food service worker was so friendly and helpful and the food was terrific.

The Air conditioning unit in our room was noisy.

Family outing.

The swimming pool. And the refrigerator. It was nice and cold. And must of the staff was nice and friendly. And we had plenty of pillows.

The rooms didn't have any long mirrors on the walls. So when you get dress you can see yourself. There was no artwork/pictures on the walls. And the sofas should not be cloth or tan colored it shows to many spots and stains. It makes it look dirty. One last thing there was no dishes in the kitchen.

Great place to stay in Charlostville!

Great location and really comfortable beds! Beautiful courtyard. The breakfast was really great too. Lots of selection and as a connoisseur of biscuits and gravy...it was some of the best I've had.

There was some construction going on, but it didn't bother us.

the location is close to anything downtown

The property is a bit dated and could use a “Freshen up”. A smell of moisture throughout the building. Our room smelled of moisture and cigarettes. you can not smoke in rooms but at anytime you could, the smell has stayed-hence why they need to freshen up!

We just needed a clean comfortable room for overnight -at a great value. English Inn delivered!

Great location, a great place to visit UVA. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Will definitely come back.

The beds were like sleeping on the springs.

I liked the breakfast area is really nice.

I didn’t like that we had a microwave in our room, but it was broken. Also the toasters in breakfast weren’t working either.

Really nice place to stay.

Location, overall great experience. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good. Liked the complimentary coffee in lobby.

Only complaint was needed a second trash can in room. was only one in the bathroom.
