"Clash!....screeeeeeeeeech... thump, thump, thump, CLANG! Clack-clack-clack....BOOM!!!!" This is what it sounds like when you stay in the Boat Room located just under the restaurant, but my husband and I loved it. They have ear plugs and the sounds of thunder and rain freely available to mask the hub-bub. We were cracking up. The room was small and it reminded me of accommodation I've had in Copenhagen and Paris (minimalistic to save space): very small, with a bed and a bathroom that doubles as the shower. The room was clean and the decor was cool. I've stayed at Nomad before in one of the bigger, front rooms. That room was quieter and more spacious. If you're uptight, entitled, or like to complain, I wouldn't stay in the Boat Room. But, it works if you're not precious. It's nice to be able to stay in a room in San Clemente without breaking the bank. The surrounding area is amazing and glorious. The food at the restaurant at the hotel is A-Maz-Ing!!! They gave us a free drink each, which was really cool. Plus, I apparently get a hat for leaving this review. Time will tell. Thanks, Nomad staff! We had a great time.

Unfortunately this was one of the most miserable check-ins of my life back in July when I stayed at this beautiful hotel. I use a flip phone, with no internet, and nothing on the website said that would be a problem.. So early the day of my arrival, like say 3am before I left home,, I checked my emails to see if my hotel needed anything from me like to call again to confirm; all good. I got there around 3pm and I guess management eventually got to see a stressful security video of me looking like an idiot, banging on their locked front door and eventually breaking into tears, crying and yelling through the door for help, over the course of 30 minutes. I was calling the office number from the website over and over, 30 times, and left 10 voicemails. I asked the bar around the back how to check-in or reach staff, they were kind but ultimately gave me the same phone#. I had to drive to a Starbucks and use their wi-fi with my laptop to try to email the hotel, and I found it... 1:55pm they had sent an email explaining the contactless check-in and codes. Nothing on expedia or their website said you had to check your email within a couple of hours of check-in to be able to get in at all, and there would be 0 staff to call if you couldn't. I don't want to trash them too hard.. it was reasonably priced for SC and beautiful and colorful and convenient. Oh, I did find someone's old leftovers in the freezer, but I would still stay again now that i know the secret to getting in :(

Well on the being I was angry because they sent an email and text message asking me to do a check in, I said what's is going on do I am doing a boarding ticket to fly or what. But in the end wow is way easy because you just do your check in and they sent you your pin # for the property entry and the pin # for the room. Wow it skip the line to do a check in.

So cool. We checked in. All rooms are unique. Our friend's room was really cool. But, our room was perfect for the two of us. Big comfy bed. Nice balcony with 2 chairs and a table. walk in shower. Roomy bathroom. hang up closet. easy access, safe, secure. We even had a surfboard rack in the room.

our room was downstairs from a cantina which was lively and loud when we checked in, with anticipation of more to come as the evening began. earplugs next to bed! In another room the toilet was in the shower! personnel onsite from 12-6 pm only. They were gracious in refunding our entire reservation.

I didn't stay, reservations was for the wrong day. I was charged anyway and I had to go through my bank to be reimbursed. The Property management said it Expedias responsibility and Expedia said it was up to the Property management.

Great location but confusing check in details as we and other guests were trying to access a key safe when we didn’t need to. However emergency number was available to contact for correct instructions. Parking is also very limited.

Our stay at the Nomads hotel was excellent. The hotel is in a good location close to the San Clemente pier, shopping and restaurants. The Nomads has a restaurant/bar up stairs the food is good. The room was clean and the beds are really comfortable. We will return and I highly recommend.

We had an awsome time in the boat room! Yes the bar was right upstairs a little noisy probably for some but we just joined the party. Great usage of space for a small room! My boat buddy and I are very impressed by the staff and Hotel! Thanks so much!

The room we are in is by the stairs to the bar, it was very noisy and the noise from the bar from the steps of shoes and dragging the chairs and tables is echoed in our tiny room. Apple TV is not working it keep saying WIFI is weak unable to connect In short it’s HORRIBLE Stay away from this hotel it should be 1star

Way, way too noisy. Restaurant bar above hotel and it sounds as if they are in your room until 1am and from 830am again. Rest was OK, loved the bar restaurant actually, but would never stay in hotel again

I was in town for a youth sporting tournament so I just wanted a clean place to sleep; I didn't care about any frills. Nomads did the trick. It was extremely clean, conveniently located. Since it's self check-in and there is no front desk or staff, it reminded me of an AirBnB experience. I wish there was easier parking, but overall I'd stay here again.

contactless check in, interesting themed rooms, canteen on top of the hotel... I've never stayed at a hotel like this. It reminded me of a hostel. It is in an excellent location right in the middle of town. The place is spotless! You could smell the soap as soon as you walked in the front door. We got two free drink coupons for the bar upstairs, which was nice :) We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it!

The location is great! Very close to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. We stayed in the wheelchair-accessible room, the first one on the right. It's nice to have an outdoor space, but the terrace was very neglected. Dying plants are not attractive. There was a bowl of earplugs on the bedside table, and boy you REALLY need them! Apparently, the kitchen for the hotel restaurant is right on top of the room, which is not a problem between 11pm and 10am, but extremely noisy otherwise. The worst part is the VERY noisy water lines that run right through the room covered by soffits and you'll hear all night long. For me, the worst part is the smell of the room, I'm allergic to all kinds of perfumes, so this was a horrible place to stay as it reeks so strong of harsh cleaning supply or/and room freshener. I guess I will not get the free hat that was offered for a good review.

Nomads is a quaint hotel with a beach vibe. A Hawaiian/tropical surf theme. The room was cozy and bed quiet comfortable. The establishment has two draw backs. 1.. it is under a cantina and if you don’t ind extra noise from up above then no problem ( it wasn’t in y case). 2.. since Nomads is in a beach community the parking is difficult. Yu have to park in the lot shared with the cantina. Once you get a spot… stay put. All in all for me I will rate this experience 4 of 5 stars.
