It was in a great location for me, I was staying on my own and I felt comfortable eating in the pub by myself, the staff were welcoming and I really enjoyed the food. There were your usual staples such as lasagne, fish & chips, chicken pie but there were also more unusual items such as muntjac casserole and pheasant fricassee, which I had and was delicious. The breakfast was also very good, the options being an English breakfast or Smoked Haddock & poached eggs.
It didn’t bother me but the pub is an old building so the bedrooms felt quite old fashioned, with uneven floors, but they were clean and comfortable

a very friendly riverside country pub with a brewery on site.
An interesting evening menu which included muntjac casserole
good beer.
staff very helpful both before and during our stay.
ideal position on the river Teme- we were on a fishing trip
good breakfast in a nice dining room
when we stayed there was bikers night and there was a separate menu if you wished
I enjoyed the olde worlde ambience inside
I thought the bathroom was rather tired.
the shower was quite low pressure and at one point we couldn't switch it off
I didn't like the fact that the door needed to be locked by key from the inside which might cause some difficulties at night in emergency if key not left in the door.

Intriguing building, excellent location, great staff, quirky, library, downstairs drinking/eating areas welcoming and plenty of them. Excellent outdoor areas inc riverside paddock with benches and play area. Dinner great, breakfast disaster.
Upstairs from bottom step onward. Needs a good clean and a lot of money spending and much maintenance, actually a complete gutting and renovation. Very disappointing.
