Many options for breakfast, including gluten-free bread and granola. The apartment was small, but clean. The kitchen was provided with everything needed. The staff was friendly and professional.
There was a bit of mold in one of the corners of the shower. The pillows were too soft for my taste.

Communal areas are lovely with a good bar, decent restaurant area. It has a fun vibe with bar football etc. It has a small gym.
Studio room was comfortable.
Good location. About 15 minutes walk into the centre.
Convenient, secure parking.
Our dog was allowed in all areas.

Gym is small. It could do with a little attention. For example, there is a screw missing from the frame in the multigym so lifting the weight stack on one side is impaired. This was mentioned to reception.

Clean and functional. Close to Dampoort train and bus stations.
We opted to take the bus to the town center because it was too hot to walk. Unfortunately some roads were closed or rerouted due to construction so we only made it 3 stops and walked the rest of the way anyway.

Disappointing stay at Adagio Aparthotel Ghent
We were really looking forward to our stay at Adagio Aparthotel Ghent, but unfortunately it fell well below expectations.
The hotel has a lot of potential, and the reception area is clean, modern and inviting. However, the outside of the hotel and surrounding areas are quite run down, which doesn’t give a particularly good first impression.
The dining options were very disappointing. There was no pizza available and only a very limited selection of food. It was quite clear that the hotel must previously have had a much more extensive menu and actually made more of the food themselves. With very little around the hotel unless you’re prepared to walk around 25 minutes into the centre of Ghent, I feel the hotel is really missing an opportunity to encourage guests to dine there.
The bar experience depended entirely on who was serving. The two young men working one evening clearly didn’t seem to know how to make the drinks properly. One attempted to make an Amaretto Sour but had to remake it after his colleague pointed out that it was wrong. It’s already a fairly short drink, but it was served with barely half a glass. The following evening, two women were working and the difference was huge — they were excellent, made a lovely Amaretto Sour and clearly knew what they were doing.
Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of our room. Perhaps I have high standards, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the floors around the beds, particularly where children are sleeping, to be free from thick dust. The room felt as though it had received a very quick wipe rather than a proper, thorough clean.
We also had to ask for extra towels as there weren’t enough provided for our stay. To make matters worse, the cleaner had left a used, dirty and unpleasant-smelling sponge around the sink. This really reinforced our concerns about the standard of cleanliness.
On our first day, after a long day of travell
The main things I didn’t like were the poor cleanliness of the room and bathroom, including thick dust, hair blocking the shower drain and mould. The food options were very limited, the service at the bar was inconsistent, and the hotel and surrounding area felt run down. Overall, it didn’t feel like the standard I expected.
