This is in a beautiful quiet spot a few steps from the Homestead Dam/Waterfall. Very peaceful. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I inquired about kayaking but he advised me against it due to high water levels from spring flooding and downed trees in the river.
The term "resort" is used loosely in northern Michigan. Anyone who thinks this is a "resort" with resort amenities will be disappointed. The cottage was very clean and appropriately furnished, but the view from the porch is of the parking lot. The windows were small. There is no view. It is basically a fish camp.

Check in and out were easy. Sitting by the river in the Adirondack chairs was so nice. Dogs are allowed. There are lots of things to rent or check out to keep a group occupied. You can see that consistent improvements are being made to the resort.
