The remoteness and tranquility was lovely to experience. The room was very comfortable, we had a great sleep, unfortunately, we didn’t get to see any Northern Lights on our visit, which is only down to the luck of the draw. The communal facilities were great and it’s lovely to have hot water and hot drinks too.
If the curtain tracks met where the door hinges are, that would have made it easier to close them off and to get in and out the fire when it’s closed, especially when it was windy through the night. Also, the bedside lights were sat on a timber stand which looked lovely but they were easily knocked by the curtains so we ended up putting those on the floor. The communal showers need to be checked as the water wasn’t draining well, so was flooding a bit when washing my hair.

It is a good idea executed poorly. We had partly clear skies and saw stars. You could also faintly see northern lights but the cloud cover wasn’t helping. Nothing you can do about the weather you get while you are there.
For a place that touts night sky viewing the property had tons of light pollution that drowned out the ability to see it the night sky. The pathway lights would be better if angled downward. We covered the closest one to our room with a towel, which helped some but the room next to us didn’t have a patron in it and the lights were left on bright all night long. There is no staff on property to notice things that could improve customer experiences. It was cold unless the heat was on full blast the entire time, which was loud. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Overall it felt slapped together and poor executed. No where near worth the cost.
