Great hostel in a great location. It was very easy to access public transport, taxis, and a supermarket. The room, the shower, and the common areas were always spotless. The breakfast was great and included a lot of local products. I also want to mention the comfortable bunk beds, there is enough space to sit up comfortably, whether you have a bottom or a top bunk.
Since it was my first time in Sao Miguel, I was a little lost when it came to activities and things to do, but Pedro helped me a lot with choosing the best options and organizing anything I needed.
As a solo female traveler, I felt safe throughout my entire stay at the hostel.

I loved the room, the bathroom sinks especially. I loved the home feeling of the hostel. I felt very at home and comfortable from the start.

Staff were very friendly and helpful in helping me plan some of my itinerary, suggesting restaurants, etc. The other guests were willing to engage at breakfast, which made the experience of staying there alone much more enjoyable. Also loved the delightful snacks and tea available during the day! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others, if they have availability.
Minor things, nothing that would cause me to not recommend it:
- it’s right next to a busy square and there’s noise from people talking loudly at night. Host provides earplugs for this.
- the breakfast was wonderful but limited to bread, cheese, jam, and fruit.

Central location, close to marina and most of touristic activities. Host is friendly and accommodating. 3 cats in the common area.
I wouldn't call this accommodation a hostel, because guests do not have access to kitchen or fridge. Rather it is a "budget-friendly" shared dorm.
There are limited possibilities to dry one's beach towels and swimming suit. I would expect a drying rack on a balcony, but there are just 2 chairs: one chair per room (so, if you are unlucky, 8 people from 2 dorms will be competing for these chairs).
Breakfast is served 8-10, and most group tours require meeting at 7-7:30, so I could eat the breakfast just once during my 5-night stay. It looks ok, but no hot meals (like eggs or sausages). Dorm price is a bit lower than at nearby hostels, but you will lose all that advantage by paying to eat out, because there is no possibilityto cook your own food. So I wouldn't stay more than 1 night if my booking was refundable. Unfortunately, I pre-paid all 5 nights and got stuck.
