We had an amazing stay, the house was perfect and had everything we needed. The kids loved being able to fish right if the jetty. The fireplace was perfect for a cold winters weekend

Amazing location as you sit under the back patio looking over the canal. We were a group of 6 friends and there was plenty of space. Great kitchen supplies, full laundry, fire (which we made good use of), kayaks are a bonus in summer and easy off the house boat jetty. Beds are firm but comfy. Hosts were very helpful and communicative. Everything you need for your family or friends getaway. Be sure to check out Western Growers Fresh just down the road.

What we liked:
The house is spacious, the view is beautiful, and having access to the private jetty was a highlight. We also appreciated the two kayaks and the board games — they added some enjoyable moments to our stay. The property management team was responsive when contacted, and the early check‑in allowance was genuinely helpful and appreciated.
Our stay was overall okay, but the property does not match the “luxury” description provided. While the house is spacious and the view with the private jetty is lovely, the overall standard falls far below what was advertised.
The furnishings are basic and dated, and the kitchen is equipped with low‑quality cookware and utensils. Even the kettle was plastic, which is not something most guests would expect or feel comfortable using these days. Some kitchen items had also been put away while still wet — for example, a wooden cutting board that had developed mould underneath, which was unpleasant to discover.
Cleanliness was another concern. There were spider webs on many doors, windows, and outdoor chairs. Although the floors and main surfaces were clean, the bathroom exhaust fan was extremely dusty. One night, my son even woke up to a spider crawling on his face, which was very distressing. The small outdoor grass area was also not maintained.
On the hottest day, when temperatures reached the 40s, the fridge stopped working completely. The central AC also struggled and barely produced any cool air, making the situation extremely uncomfortable. Dealing with a failing fridge and inadequate cooling in such heat was unacceptable.
Having the two kayaks and a few board games was a nice touch and we appreciated having them available. However, given the size of the house and the cost of the stay, we expected more substantial entertainment options — for example, a pool table, sun loungers, or even a simple hammock. These additions would have made the outdoor and leisure experience feel more aligned with the “luxury” description.
We paid around $5,590 for five nights (after a Booking.com discount), which is a considerable amount. Given the issues above, the property felt significantly overpriced, even taking into account the peak‑season timing.
