De sfeer, het personeel en de locatie was top.
Hygiënisch viel er nog wel wat te halen; achterin bij de buiten wc’s en douches (er was binnen ook een badkamer) leek het alsof er nog nooit iemand opgeruimd heeft. De lakens op het matras zijn naar mijn idee te klein. Na drie keer draaien lig je met je lijf op het matras.

Malinda is hilarious and great!
New hostel in Hiri. Slap bang in the middle of Hiri and Dickwella beach, perfect for surface and chilling. Offered scooter rental if needed. Hooked us up with Chandy’s beach bar, with free loungers and the staff there are great. A quick 8 minute walk (if that) to either beach. Barely used tuk tuks whikst we were there! All the friends of Malinda are great, and they share everything. Taught us properly how to play Karam, made sure we always got involved.
Nice comfy big beds, and the personal fans negate the lack of AC. Super chilled with check in and check out and extending. You can come and go as you please. Outdoor showers are high pressure and great after the beach. Fridge is always stocked with cold beer (get added to your bill at the end so keep count, but super cheap and convenient).
Great chats with Malinda about different cultures, and living in Sri Lanka. Had a really fun time.
We were skeptical about going DOTs, but was worth it in the end, attracted a really nice crowd.
Good for socialising but also good if you are not into that too, you can chill on your own terms.
Kitchen is functional although we barely used it, laundry is easy to use too.
A woman traveller with my boyfriend, I felt very comfortable with it being a mixed dorm. So don’t get out off at all!
We needed up extremes by 2 days because we were so comfortable.
Noise bleeds a touch from the social area into the dorms, nothing out of the ordinary for a hostel, but it does go on a little late. Kinda a pro for us lol.
Only 1 washroom for the entire place (But there are outdoor showers!).
Lockers are small, but there is space under the beds.
People do smoke in the inside shared area so if that isn’t for you then I would stay clear.

Malinda the host is super friendly and will help you with anything! The facility and the bunk beds are much bigger than the normal cramped spaces around has individual fans for a good nights sleep!
Location is just a 5 min. walk away from the best beach in Sri Lanka! extended the stay. and best value for money stay! grab it while it last! :)
