This was by far the most expensive place I have ever stayed. We really splurged by staying here, but I have to say it was worth it. The grounds, private beach with amenities like sand toys and boogie boards, the pools and the WILDLIFE. Really the best part of all was the sloths and monkeys that were right outside our door everyday. They made it so fun to be here.
We ate at many of the restaurants and they were OK but very pricey. The resort is close to grocery stores, cheaper restaurants and tourist activities. I would definitely stay here again.

Miguel our concierge was great from the time he was assigned to us, from preparing our trip itinerary developed by our interest to transportation to and from airport , getting groceries, cleaning timing of our unit and more. I can’t say enough. We had a party of 8 and were always accommodated with ease. All staff were amazing and eager to help with anything asked of them. Even a 9pm call due to drier not heating. The restaurants on grounds always pleased even to our pickiest of eaters, he loved, loved, loved the breakfast French toast. This place is great to spot wildlife. We experienced monkeys playing on our back porch, the kids laughed for 30minutes one evening at a group of 5 white face monkeys. On the property we saw 3 different kinds of monkeys; whiteface, squirrel and holler. Tulemar also has sloth and I can’t explain the excitement to spot one. Tulemar is a great location to enjoy many adventures on and off property. There is also a private beach that is quite quant until the tide comes in. Getting there is a hike so taking grounds shuttle is a must. We would definitely pick Tulemar again!!

The Tulemar Resort is essentially a few rooms and villas within a much bigger resort and the grounds are outstanding - essentially within the rainforest and very private with lovely balconies from which we saw monkeys, iguanas and hummingbirds.
The rooms themselves are slightly dated, as is the reception area so that gives a somewhat underwhelming first impression, however we ended up loving it here because of the views, the private beach and the pools.
The resort is very large and so the golf buggy/van service is handy. They run a concierge system which is a little uncomfortable (I'm pretty sure it's all on commission) but to be fair there was no hard sell.
We would stay again.
