Die Anlage und das Zimmer waren sehr schön und modern. Der Ausblick auf das Meer und der Pool waren toll.
Für den Preis hätte der Service insgesamt besser sein müssen. Die Mitarbeiter*innen waren überfordert, wir haben zum Frühstück z.B. nie das bekommen, was wir bestellt haben und dann wurde uns daraus noch ein Vorwurf gemacht, als wir nett um das bestellte Essen gebeten haben. Es gab bestimmt 12 oder mehr Mitarbeiter*innen und diese hatten wenig zu tun, da wir die einzigen Gäste waren. So fühlte man sich ziemlich beobachtet und die Stimmung war komisch. Die Preise im Restaurant und für die Aktivitäten waren sehr hoch. Das Essen war außerdem auch nicht so lecker.

We stayed here for 5 nights in Jan 2026 (2 adults and 2 kids ages 16 and 9). The resort ticked all the boxes for our family: small resort with beach access, a swimming pool and a restaurant so we used this as a base to explore Santander, Samboan and Ginatilan visiting several waterfalls and snorkelling sites. What set them apart from other resorts we’ve stayed at was the customer service - our breakfast and dinner were always served on time without sacrificing quality and flavour, the receptionists were always attentive to our needs, the cleaning staff always responsive to our requests.
The room was spacious (with a high ceiling and sliding glass door leading outside to the pool area), the shower and toilet were good sized, the water pressure and temp were good, the airconditioning unit was enough to keep our room cool, fresh towels were supplied, enough hanging racks in the balcony to hang our wet clothes. We also enjoyed lounging by the beach during the day and the lobby at night. The resort exceeded our expectations so much that our youngest wanted to stay longer.

Avila’s Horizon Dive Resort is een mooi en modern nieuw hotel op een prachtige locatie in Santander. Het resort is nog deels in aanbouw, maar dit heeft onze ervaring nauwelijks verstoord. De kamers zijn ruim, comfortabel en bieden een schitterend uitzicht, wat meteen een vakantiegevoel geeft.
De afwerking van de kamers is typisch Filipijns: alles is netjes en functioneel, al is het niet tot in de kleinste details perfect afgewerkt. Dat stoorde ons echter niet en past bij de lokale charme van het verblijf.
Een groot pluspunt is het zwembad en het strand dat zich direct naast het hotel bevindt — ideaal om te ontspannen en te genieten van zon en zee. Het personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het team is duidelijk nog jong en wat onervaren, maar hun enthousiasme en goede wil maken veel goed. Al met al is Avila’s Horizon Dive Resort een fijne plek om te verblijven, vooral dankzij de ligging, het uitzicht en de ruime kamers. Met enkele kleine verbeteringen heeft dit resort zeker het potentieel om uit te groeien tot een echte topper.
Het ontbijt dient de avond op voorhand gekozen te worden en wordt ’s ochtends vooraf klaargemaakt en koud geserveerd. Dit vonden wij persoonlijk een minpuntje. Gelukkig is er iets verder in de straat een uitstekend Belgisch restaurant waar je heerlijk kan eten, wat een fijne aanvulling is.
Een klein aandachtspunt is de service van drinkwater: hiervoor moet je telkens naar beneden gaan, aangezien er geen waterdispensers op de gangen staan. Het is dus aan te raden om ’s nachts zelf wat water in de kamer te voorzien.

The staff were great and the location is very close to the port.
Rooms were clean.
The food was far below average and takes forever. 3/4 of the menu items were unavailable. The staff precook the breakfast in the morning and wrap it in plastic until you ask for it. Cold and inedible.
Beds are hard but the sheets are soft.
Water pressure was terrible.
