There is so much to love about this property! Definitely a more rustic experience but almost everything is still very comfortable. The bungalows are screened in but definitely “open air” feel. Beds were comfortable. They provided fans and mosquito coils. Food was excellent! You won’t get to chose meals but honestly everyone in our group was happy with the food. Even my picky teenager. We saw a lot of animals including lots of monkeys, macaws, a sloth, a peccary, bullet ants, caiman, fished for piranhas and more. This is why we came and so everything was worth it for us. Because it is a remote location, there isn’t a lot of choices with things but they provided everything we needed. We had WiFi and power all the time which wasn’t expected but very nice in the evenings to wind down. The staff, which is family run, was perfect! Very friendly and spoke pretty good English. Jeanpier was super knowledgeable and great at being flexible with our excursions.
Only complaint at all is that there is no hot water. That was pretty uncomfortable even after a hot day. But they only have solar power so it’s understandable.

Das Valencia Lake Lodge wird als ein Familienunternehmen betrieben und das zeigt sich auch auf positive Art und Weise. Die Mama kocht super leckeres peruanisches Essen mit Lebensmittel auf dem Dschungel und der Region, die Töchter kümmern sich um die Organisation und die Touren und Toni ist der Mann für alles. Wir haben uns rundum wohl und versorgt gefühlt. Wir waren in der Regenzeit da und hatten sehr Glück mit dem Wetter, da es sich meistens nachts abgerechnet hat - was zum schlafen wundervoll war. Die Betten in den Lodges sind sehr bequem, man sollte sich aber auf ein echtes, authentisches Erlebnis einstellen, d.h. man hört durchgehend Tiere wie Vögel, Affen oder Insekten (auch nachts) und manchmal kommen die Insketen auch in den Bungalow zu Besuch. Uns hat das nicht gestört, da man das einfach nicht verhindern kann.
Der Bungalow ist sehr modern und bietet genug Platz. Wir haben nicht das Gesamtpaket gebucht, sondern uns einzelne Aktivitäten rausgesucht, wie Kayakfahren, Nachtwanderdung, Piranhas angeln und Kaimane beobachten. Alles war top organisiert und der Guide Diego kennt die Flora & Faune in und auswendig. Sein Wissen und seine Fähigkeit Tiere zu spotten sind beeindruckend!
Da die Familie die Lodge recht neu eröffnet hat, kann man aktuell nur Bar bezahlen, ein Kartenlesegerät soll aber eingeführt werden.
Die Lodge ist von Puerto Maldonado ca 1,5std Autofahrt entfernt. Wir haben daher den Transfer gebucht und das hat alles wunderbar geklappt.
