The lodge itself Was very Clean, and well presented, the sauna and hot tub were fantastic. Very peaceful settings, perfect for a relaxing break.
the positioning of the lodge is very exposed, unfortunately we had very strong winds blowing snow and sand/ash from the mountains, which made the hot tub impossible to use, snow drifts also meant we got the car stuck on arrival!
You have to be prepared for all weathers in Iceland, and it’s the luck of the draw. I imagine that a clear calm night in the hot tub would be amazing whilst watching the northern lights.

The view is absolutely stunning! The room design is perfect, and you’ll love every moment you spend there. We arrived early, about two hours before check-in, but the host was incredibly kind and let us check in early. I’m so happy to have visited Iceland and met everyone.

We were welcomed by a truly breathtaking landscape — the view from the hotel is spectacular and undoubtedly its greatest asset.
Unfortunately, the rest of the experience did not reflect the same level of excellence. We were charged €740 for one night, yet upon arrival, there wasn’t even a bottle of water by the bedside — no welcome gesture, no sign of care.
To make things worse, the sauna hadn’t been turned on, even though we had clearly communicated our arrival time in advance. And the towels smelled musty, as if they hadn’t been properly washed or aired — an unpleasant detail that further highlighted the overall lack of attention.
These may seem like small things, but they add up to an unmistakable impression: hospitality is clearly not a priority for the owners of this hotel.
