It’s odd when the description offers guests the chance to immerse themselves in the history of a closed, oldest club while staying at the hotel, but then you don’t allow the hotel tenants into the bar because I’m not a club member.
It leaves a bad taste.

Great period feel to the place and wonderful staff. Rooms was clean and comfortable.
The breakfast was poor. There are better choices in Cape Town for breakfast.

I had a really comfortable stay at the Cape Town Club on a recent visit to Cape Town. The historic setting is wonderful, and I loved the photo exhibition that was on display. The bar is excellent. The room is basic but very clean and quiet, although only a stone's throw from Adderley and Loop Street.
The staff seemed a bit unorganised, especially at check-in. I had to convince the doorman that I had a booking, which was a bit awkward.
