Nos gustó mucho nuestra estancia en Greenfield Haven. Es un alojamiento rodeado completamente de naturaleza y vegetación, con un ambiente tranquilo y perfecto para desconectar.
Eso sí, hay que tener una cosa clara: si no os gustan los animalitos y los pequeños visitantes de la naturaleza, quizá este no sea vuestro alojamiento. 😂
A nosotros nos visitó una mamá rana con sus bebés y también había bastantes hormigas en la habitación. Sinceramente, no nos molestó porque eres consciente de que estás durmiendo prácticamente en mitad de la naturaleza y es completamente normal encontrarte algún bichito.
Lo importante es que todo estaba muy limpio y bien cuidado.
Santa fue muy amable con nosotros y el desayuno también estaba muy rico.
Para nosotros esos pequeños visitantes incluso forman parte de la experiencia. Si buscas tranquilidad, naturaleza y un alojamiento diferente para conocer la zona de Polonnaruwa, es una opción muy bonita.

If you are planning a trip to Polonnaruwa, look no further than Greenfield Haven. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family by the wonderful hosts, Raja and his wife. Their brilliant hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable; they are the kindest, most attentive hosts you could ever hope to meet, always going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed.
One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the food. The home-cooked meals prepared by Raja’s wife were spectacular—authentic, incredibly flavorful Sri Lankan dishes made fresh with local ingredients. Every meal felt like a feast, and it completely ruined eating at restaurants for us because nothing else could compete with her cooking!
On top of the incredible food and warmth, Raja is an absolute lifesaver when it comes to organizing tours and things to do. Whether you want to rent bicycles to explore the ruins or set up an itinerary, he takes care of all the logistics seamlessly, saving you any travel stress.
The location is also perfect. It manages to feel like a tranquil, peaceful escape surrounded by nature, yet it is exceptionally central to all the major attractions. The ancient city ruins, Gal Vihara Rock Temple, and Lankathilaka Image House are just a short trip away, making it the perfect base for sightseeing.
Thank you, Raja and family, for an incredible, authentic stay. We cannot recommend Greenfield Haven highly enough and will definitely be back!
