The Herondale Hotel

The rooms are okay. Nothing terrible. But for the price it’s kind of a lipstick on a pig situation. You can tell they tried to fix up an old motel but cut some corners. Beds aren’t great. Doors slam. It’s okay but probably won’t be back.

They let dogs in all the rooms so if you have severe pet allergies or just don’t like lingering dog smell, I’d skip it.

The gorgeous view from this hotel is EVERYTHING. It's just stunning. The property itself has been beautifully updated and offers a clean, modern setting with some great amenities. An older exterior in no way prepares you for the completely updated interior and the modern boutique experience the Herondale offers. It's fresh, comfortable, and all about the incredible, expansive view! We appreciated the full table in our room, since we were tired and ordered a takeout dinner. From the friendly welcome, when innkeepers greeted us with delicious mocktails, to our easy checkout the next morning, our visit was wonderful. We appreciated details like the helpful info sheet in the room, the Salt & Stone bath products, and the firepit terrace.

I didn't dislike a thing about the Herondale. The small bites options in the cafe were limited and didn't work for us, due to special dietary needs, but the innkeepers explained that they're working on expanding the menu.

The hotel is high on a cliff overlooking the Columbia River. Spectacular view, spa-like aesthetics, quiet and large room with a small patio, table and chairs.

There was nothing to dislike.

The rooms were nicely renovated. And the balcony was superb.

The noise from the street outside was very loud. My room was renovated but the soundproofing was not. There was no weatherstripping on the door and all the noise from the street came in.
