The room was lovely and well appointed as far as aesthetically. Roomy and very pretty.
My husband found the bed a little uncomfortable. The toilet with the automatic opening lid became a nuisance as it opened every time we threw something in the trash and always flushing after each use (especially at night) so we unplugged it. The two sitting chairs were not very comfortable to use although very attractive.

This amazing, Victorian style villa site is a stunning find. Beautiful rooms, gorgeous gardens and sculptures. David, GM, was an amazing host. Walked us himself to the room and gave us as much information as we could possibly handle. We did not have turn-down service or room cleaning while staying as that tends to weird us out. The walk to the underground parking was easy. Parking was secure and private, despite being shared with the restaurant and conference facility. Beds were comfortable. Furniture was classic style and comfortable even for a large dude like me. Water was consistently hot. The automated toilets were a surprise and an interesting experience for someone who has never experienced this before. We got the history of the site, which dates back to the early 1900s. Just up the street from Red Barb Market, Tim Horton's, and several small shops, and a straight shot down Esquimalt to downtown. An amazing experience our first time in Canada.
Was surprised by the parking surcharge being separate and undeclared by Booking.com, but they are a new facility at the time of this writing and the parking is metered as a shared lot. Thus the 9/10. The rest were small - ice was on request only, less USB options by bed, and we had upstairs guests the last night with noisy children banging around. Not more than our own experience and preferences so no demotion for them.

Stunning character building with so much attention to detail.
Beautiful decor with pretty gardens and a spa if you liked nestled in the grounds.
