I stayed at Nyne Hotel Anuprit in Bentota and was genuinely impressed.
The ocean view is stunning, and the sunset I watched there was one of the best I’ve seen in Sri Lanka so far. The second-floor pool just outside the rooms makes it easy to step out for a swim while still enjoying the view. The rooftop pickleball court next door was a fun surprise and great for a match with a partner or if you’re traveling with friends or extended family.
There was a small welcome box of local sweets in the room, with a description that felt personal and well thought out. The design and artwork from local artists give the property character without feeling overdone.
The food was excellent throughout. The menu included vegan, vegetarian, and non-dairy options. I enjoyed lunch so much that I invited a few friends to join me another day, and it turned into a lovely afternoon. The option to have a curated meal prepared in the private kitchen would make it especially good for groups.
It’s about 1.5 hours from Colombo, so it’s an easy escape.
