The studio is a nice place to stay while exploring Yosemite, all be it requiring a little bit of a drive each day to get to the park. The distance may seem short but to get to many trailheads and parking lots, you’re looking at a 1-1.5 hour drive.
Our host was very responsive, which was super helpful for minor issues, covered below. I do get the sense that they really care that people have a good experience staying here. It was nice. I had looked at reviews on a different platform since this one is new to Booking, and it seems like many previous complaints and issues have been addressed.
Overall, the facilities inside are clean and serviceable, with the essentials needed even to do some simple cooking. I do wish that there were more spices permanently stocked at the studio. At the time we stayed there was just salt and pepper.
The studio has some small issues that I feel keep it back from its potential. Starting with the kitchen, the mini fridge had a very large amount of ice build up in its freezer section, to the point where it was impossible to use the freezer. I think this really needs to be serviced, otherwise the fridge is at risk of breakage. The portable cooktop (not mentioned in the facilities on Booking) can be a bit dangerous as the entire apparatus gets very hot while cooking. It’s and older model so this is a hazard that comes with its age. A newer, safer one could be a good upgrade.
The rest of the interior is well kept but we found it strange that the bathroom walls do not extend to the ceiling. If you are traveling with someone else but greatly value your privacy in the bathroom, this place may not be for you. Also in the interior, we noticed an odd smell during our stay, perhaps due to a cleaning product but the best way to describe it is must or dampness.
The exterior was not as clean as pictured in the listing. The patio furniture has aged a bit and it doesn’t seem like it’s cleaned between stays. It had accumulated a lot of spider webs and outdoor debris. In the evening mosquitoes made it very difficult to sit outside.
Finally, the specific address does not seem to show up on Booking once it’s time for your stay, so I was confused at first exactly where to go. I recommend the host include the address in the welcoming messages.

We liked that it was quiet overall so my traumatized dog could finally relax from the barrage of fireworks in the Valley. Once we had the a/c on, we felt comfortable. Close to restaurants and local park. Cute vibe inside. We liked that it was dog friendly
We both needed more illumination in the bathroom and "kitchenette" I needed more shelf space everywhere (in the bathroom and in the living space.) We felt the chairs with cans of paint nearby was not a welcoming sight. The wifi would turn off randomly. Husband felt some of the cosmetic issues in the bathroom & exterior pulled away from 5 star experience that was implied in the listing. Because we were using this place as a getaway, we were inside most of the time; husband tried to watch TV but was unable to Because there were no local stations and without a subscription, only prime was available. He wanted to watch the world cup and could not.
