Everything! This property perfectly captures the charm of an old British colonial home, complete with the beautiful smell of wood and a cozy fireplace. It is also in a fantastic location, on a hill with a rooftop offering beautiful views of Single Tree Hill.
The property is run by a wonderful father-and-son duo who are incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely invested in their guests. Their attention to detail, care, and concern for my safety as a solo traveller really stood out. I had a private room with a beautiful, spacious bathroom and a lovely view. The bed was extremely comfortable and had warm bedding, which was especially appreciated given how cold Nuwara Eliya can get. My host even provided an extra duvet in case I needed it.
The fireplace was another highlight. Ryan was very determined to keep it lit, and it made the evenings wonderfully warm and relaxing. I also really appreciated the company he kept me in the evenings. I genuinely felt at home and like part of the family. There was always plenty of tea and biscuits, and sitting by the fire with a cup of tea was incredibly relaxing.
Breakfast was generous, delicious, and offered so many options that I actually had to ask for less the following day! The hosts also took the time to ask how I preferred my food prepared and did their best to accommodate me.
Ryan was also incredibly helpful with recommendations for things to see around Nuwara Eliya. When I ran out of things to do one afternoon, he personally took me to a beautiful viewpoint near the residence, which was such a thoughtful gesture.
A special thank you to my hosts for going above and beyond on my last evening. When they learned that I had not had a chance to get food, they kindly prepared a hearty meal for me. That level of care and kindness made my stay exceptionally wonderful.
I highly recommend this residence, especially for solo travellers looking for comfort, warmth, and a genuine sense of hospitality.
Ran out of space but needed to add this: The hosts are also preparing an additional room for larger groups, so there will soon be accommodation for more than two guests.

This was seriously a hidden gem I found from Nuwara Eliya. Don't even think and just book it, you will not regret it. It's a family owned business and Ryan and Elvis definitely made us feel at home. Catered to our every need and treated us just like family. The place is very new and it's really clean. It was such a warm and cozy place and we basically got to enjoy the living area also all by ourselves. They also have a fireplace in the living room and in the bedroom as well. It was perfect to chill nearby and stay warm due to the cold weather there. Definitely spare one night out for dinner for a dinner at the hotel as it was AMAZING. Elvis is such an amazing cook and let us have an authentic local cuisine for dinner and breakfast as well. They do have western options available as well but the local food was so good and is a must try. The hotel is located a bit far up in the hills but it was also not a negative as they help arrange rides for you to the city and wherever we want to .
