Superbe maison dans un chouette village
Étant à une extrémité de l’île nous avons dû faire beaucoup de trajets pour les visites. Mais le coin est tellement chouette que ça valait la peine

A Faial da Terra un incantevole piccolo paesino di sao miguel, questa villa rustica ha una posizione perfetta, fresca, con una meravigliosa vista sull’oceano ! Il paese offre dei servizi di base ( bar ristorante e supermarket) e da qui partono delle meravigliose passeggiate nei boschi tra cascate naturali e animali selvatici, piscina e un molo sull’oceano per i tuffi, completano l’esperienza ! Una vacanza rilassante e immersa nella natura azoregna!

The house is wonderful! We stayed here because the owner of a much more expensive property suddenly cancelled on us, and we feel incredibly fortunate that we found such a terrific alternative. Tastefully furnished and traditional but well maintained, with all facilities you could need, and occupying an imposing position by the sea, Entre a Pedra e o Mar is a very comfortable and quite delightful place. The hosts were extremely pleasant, helpful and responsive - they even left a welcome basket of wine and treats. Faial da Terra is a really beautiful spot - even the severe immigration officer smiled and said "great choice" when we told her where we were staying. The village is small, quiet and tidy with a lovely church, a well-stocked supermarket and two decent bars, as well as a small beach and a small, immaculate public pool. There are some excellent hikes up to the Salto do Prego waterfall and the village of Sanguinho that people drive from all over the island for. The only noisy things in Faial are the seabirds - what an extraordinary call Cory's Shearwater has! There are certainly parts of the island where the driving is easier - most routes out of Faial take you through the very windy (but spectacular) road to Povoacao and Furnas - and this isn't the place for you if you want a bustling marina or a choice of upscale restaurants, but we had an absolutely fantastic time here and cannot recommend Entre a Pedra e o Mar highly enough.

Beautiful quiet location with an outdoor covered barbecue and a view of the ocean. House felt traditional and cosy and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to cook.
The property was great - beds were a little hard but perhaps we are spoiled by too soft beds at home.
