The location of the Hotel
The Lancaster Hotel did not apply the rules of confidentaility as of GDPR. This is illegal . I was not happy about this in other circumstances I would have left . Further one was expected to attend breakfast at a particular time , it felt like school it was quite unacceptable . I missed two breakfasts to catch a 9am train on two occasions. At other places breakfast had commenced at 7:30 or even 7 am not 8am .
The staff were friendly and helpful but the more senior management needs improving .
it is my opinion that this due to the high summer temperature expereinced in England that there was boom of holiday bookings in Scotland so there few alternatives. It was a relief to attend the Holiday Inn at Bradford on my way home .

Based a few minutes away from central Oban, this hotel was a good value stay in the busy town of Oban. It was quiet and clean and had a 'retro' feel of the '70s. The manager was very helpful and the hotel is dog friendly.
