The staff is super friendly and helpful. The free private parking lot has lots of shade (great to keep your car away from the burning hot sunlight) and is a huge plus. The location is only a 10-15min Uber ride (which is relatively cheap too) away from the city center and from most hotspots so no need to ever drive during the stay. There's also a Tram stop only a few steps from the hotel but we decided to just do Uber instead as it cuts the travel time in half. Pillows are huge and very comfortable; beds are short but also comfy. Would stay again anytime i visit by car.
No blackout curtains in the rooms. From 07AM onwards, strong sunlight will wake you up. Wear a good blindfold and that should be less of a problem. The mini fridge in the room is also very tiny and could honestly be a bit more powerful to keep stuff cold.

The Waltzer Hotel is grand and romantic in appearance, and is in a good position for anyone to access central Buda within 20 mins. The hotel manager and staff were very pleasant, friendly and welcoming, and did their best to meet our needs during our stay. The manager found us an electric fan for our room, as it was very hot on our arrival and no air con available. Also fresh milk for our room, and there was a laundry facility available which we used and were very happy with. He also accommodated our request to change rooms at short notice .
We also appreciated the convenient tram outside the hotel.
Unfortunately, all the rest of the review below is based on our expectations from reviews we had read on Booking.com, and the price of the room, which was comparable to much more well equipped hotels in other cities. We felt other would-be guests would need to know our experience.
Our room on the third floor (these seemed to be less comfortable than others on the 1st and 2nd floors) were unfortunately shabby & not as advertised. We were disappointed with this and asked to change rooms (though this was only to a similar room on the same floor, but at least this had a separate shower fixed to the wall, and a working fridge). Initially we decided to stay in the room after we arrived, but as the list of things we didn't like increased, we decided to change - eg. non-working fridge, a bath with shower attached to the taps, not the wall, a curtain on the window which couldn't be drawn, and which was stained and hung away from the window, leaving a gap which couldn't be covered at night, a hairdryer which wouldn't work unless the bathroom light was switched on, air con unit which didn't appear to have been working for some years, shower gel which hadn't been re-filled by the shower ...... I think the list went on, but we decided not to request any further needs. The breakfast also we would only rate as minimal for the price - and there was no comparison with other hotels for the same price in other cities we have stayed in during our European touring holiday. Just to summarise, if this hotel had been advertised as a rather upmarket hostel accommodation, we would have been pleased, but this is not what we thought we had paid for.
