The first room I was given had another room above it, and the people staying in that room were very loud. I could tell within 10 minutes that it would be uncomfortable for me. I went to the front desk and asked for another room. They were very accommodating, showing me several options and letting me choose. The room I chose was over the pub, which made it a bit loud until about 8:30 pm, but the pub closes at 9 and it was quiet after that. I recommend rooms on the second floor between 201 and 210 if you don't like overhead noise (there is no third floor above those rooms) and are okay with the pub noise below you until about 9 pm.
The room I stayed in was small, but because I was given choices, I was okay with that choice. That being said, two armchairs and a king-sized bed took up quite a bit of space in such a small room. There was no room for a desk. I made do without it, but since I was working, a desk would have been nice. I don't know if the hotel has rooms with queen sized beds and room for a desk in the same sized room as I had. If so, those rooms must have been booked, because I wasn't shown a room like that. If such a room had been offered, I likely would have taken that instead.

The staff was pleasant and the room was clean
after 2 days, they ran out of in room coffee for guest and made no attempt to fix the situation
the outside of the property needs some tlc as it does not look like brochure
