Good place for quick and dirty stay in town

Good location and it was cheap

You get what you paid for. Heater wasn't working so you were told to get portable heaters from the hallway they left out (which I was not instructed until I called the front desk to ask to fix heater). No mini fridge or way to boil water, and the hair dryer barely worked.

Guter Start um die wichtigsten Punkte SF anzuschauen.

Die Lage lag sehr zentral, dass die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß und die weiteren per Bus erreichbar waren. Die Cable Cars waren gleich um die Ecke und die Drehscheibe an der Powel St. war auch sehr insteressant anzuschauen,

Natürlich hat San Francisco auch seine Schattenseite, aber das hat nichts mit dem Hotel zu tun und jeder sollte sich selbst seine Meinung dazu bilden.

Great deal in great location

The staff, very friendly The location, very central and quite safe

We could hear the neighbors sometime but they was really not that bad. We've seen worst! The room is rather small but all in all, it works. The TV is a bit small and old and did not propose subtitles for instance.

Disappointing

Room is basic but clean and has everything we needed. Very warm though and no aircon so wasn't pleasant when trying to sleep. Staff were very friendly and helpful where they could be and we had regular room service.

The hotel is advertised on booking.com as having parking which is incredibly misleading. We thought there may be a fee for hotel parking but the hotel has no parking whatsoever and we weren't aware of this until we arrived. We were directed to a private car park nearby by the staff which was $50 a day. Which as we were booked for three nights was an extra $150 we weren't expecting to pay. Considering the area is fairly bad, we would have just rather have paid a bit extra for a hotel in a nicer area that did have parking. Parking should be removed as an advertised facility as it is not accurate.

Okay for location but not for price

Good location and near lots of food places. Friendly staff.

Our room didn't have A/C and we found a plug in fan outside our room (which we used, not sure if it was for us!). Plugs aren't very good, only one available which meant we had to unplug our bedside lights. No coffee!

Caring, helpful staff. Convenient to downtown. Reasonably priced

I was downtown, booking at the last minute. Juliet was so helpful. She told me about the best place to park overnight, and made sure I moved in and out smoothly. So kind. Thank you!

I think the Touchstone really serves in a challenging time !

Affordable Stay in Central San Francisco

The people at reception were so kind to me and even held my bags behind their small desk for the day so I could attend a work event without hauling my bag around. My room was no-frills, but sufficiently clean and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated that the hotel was close walking distance to multiple public transit options. I didn't get a chance to check out the old-school diner downstairs unfortunately, maybe another time!

The neighborhood is a little sketchy as it is on the border between Union Square and Tenderloin. I'm not sure I would stay here for a longer relaxing vacation, but this hotel is a great affordable choice for an overnight stay.

first time visiting San Francisco

the location was great

the beds where super hard and I didn’t slept well the two nights I stayed, everything is a little to old it will be nice to update rooms specially beds since is important after a long day walking around seeing the city.

Great location, comfortable bed even if the room is basic but we were only in the room to sleep and shower. The staff are always super friendly.

No safe in the room which is disappointing as had to take stuff out with us during the day that we normally wouldn't (we did feel safe at the hotel though)

Excellent stay! personnel was so friendly and always willing to help and careful! very close to everything (public transportation and walking distance for several touristic points). Highly recommend it!

The fact it’s central with easy access to muni travel & to shops at union st & Westfield

Lovely room, fabulous staff

Great value for money, lovely room - basic but stylish. Staff were very friendly and helpful; my flight was delayed, meaning I arrived at 3am, but communication was great and I was reassured that late arrival wouldn't be an issue. When I arrived, a lamp had been switched on and the curtains drawn - just a little thing but very welcome after a long journey! David's Deli downstairs is well worth a visit for an old-style diner experience.

Wonderful little hotel in the middle of San Francisco.

The Touchstone Hotel is a charming, old-school hotel that serves great as a base to explore San Francisco. Friendly staff, clean room (daily housekeeping), and plenty of hot water. Excellent service upon all interactions with staff members. David's Deli downstairs is a great breakfast spot, with good service, and authentic and awesome pancakes.

No coffee/tea in the rooms. Clean everywhere, except under the bed.

Lovely and affordable stay

Staff was amazing and very helpful during our stay. The room was also clean and cozy

Liked this hotel

The location was great and the hotel was clean. The staff especially Juliette was awesome.

I don’t think they had heat. I got a space heater in my 4th night but the other 3 nights were very uncomfortable.
