Room and bathroom were clean . Bed comfortable. When we walked on the floors in our socks, the white socks turned brown . Seems like the floors had not been cleaned in awhile .

It was a comfortable room and surprisingly quiet for being on a major road.
The parking spaces are super narrow. This seems to be a norm in Santa Cruz—a lot of places we went had much narrower spaces than we're used to, so this may not be unique to The Islander. But just something to be aware of if you're renting a car.
