I love the Islander!

The most comfortable bed and clean, clean clean! Sweet folks checked us in and I want to go back to stay there again because it is affordable and easy and nice and close too everything in Santa Cruz!

Great stay for a trip to Santa Cruz

For the price and the location of only about a 5 min drive to the boardwalk it’s a very great motel. It had a friendly staff and the room itself was very clean. I would definitely come to the Islander again for my next trip to Santa Cruz.

The only complaint I’d say about the motel was unfortunately how thin the walls were, at night it seemed like we heard it when almost every car, motorcycle go by.

Good location to main sites of interest

The room was clean and well aired. I appreciated the complimentary coffee in the morning. The boardwalk and fisherman’s wharf is within walking distance.

The wifi connection was very weak. The property is located near a busy road so quite noisy at night.

The facility was fine and well-functioning. The front desk worker was way too rude and arrogant.

Room was clean. Bed was clean and comfortable. Bathroom and sink were clean and well-functioning.

Front desk worker had a severe attitude problem. She was arrogant, aggressive, disrespectful, dishonest, and mean. I don't think I will stay here again although my stays at this hotel in the past were pleasant.

I would recommend The Islander to anyone visiting SC. Wonderful place to stay.

The quality of the room was far greater than I expected. The owners and staff were all more than just folks running a motel. I enjoyed my conversations with both owners especially as my visit coincided with their daughter's graduation from college! This is my go-to lodging when in Santa Cruz.

Exceeded expectations

There were plenty of blankets on the bed. The bed itself had a firm mattress and was super comfortable.

I was surprised that there was no coffee in the room. I had to go to the Chevron station up the road to buy a coffee. There isn’t secure internet.

Was a horrible stay.

It was a horrible experience. we told them we needed no help till we checked out. we left to go to the beach and they came in our room and touched everything!! they moved my TOOTHBRUSH. my stuff was moved places I did not leave it. The staff was rude and the room was dirty. They had the time to come and move my things but the microwave was disgusting when we got here.
