Good location for a day visit; would not recommend Sunrise Inn

From the outside, the inn looks nice and it is in a walkable area, close to restaurants, a nice brewery, and Shelter Island.

The room looked a bit rundown when I checked in but I didn't notice until the morning how unclean it was. No bath towels and the bathmat had a big boot print on it. As I was looking for a staff person, another guest came to the lobby who said he had been trying for over an hour to reach someone. Turns out I was lucky to have hand towels; they didn't have any! I wasn't able to find anyone to address the issues I was having and I left a day earlier than planned.

Pervert across the hall, looks like he lives there. Hard towels, room smelled funny, very weird vibes and energy. Not recommend

Horrible. Horrendous. Unsafe. Never again.

The price for a room.

Photos don’t match description well. From the check in lobby to the actual room, it smelled very bad. Room wasn’t properly cleaned, as well as the bed sheets. The curtains were cut off to not overlap the air conditioner which I believe is unacceptable. My partner and I were there for a total of 10 minutes and decided to book a different hotel immediately as we didn’t feel safe and comfortable staying a night there.

Don't know,I got refused to get a room.

Never got to stay. I get there and front desk person said I don't have reservations. I show him my reservations number and refused to look. I'm very disappointed

COCKROACHES all over had to sleep with light on. No towels no toilet paper. Tv volume didn’t work. Super dirty

A great place to stay to relax and concentrate

Very laid back. The hotel is very quiet despite being on a very busy road.

The office staff and workers were very nice and helpful.

The facilities were very disappointing. The place looked dirty from the dirty rug in the lobby to dirty walls. The room was fine in size but the furniture was old and nicked up; the TV was difficult to use and I was never able to hook up with the WiFi. Also very poor was the small parking area and risk of nicking your car on the pillars. Just much lower than expectations.

Convenient

The location was perfect. The view from the lobby area outside of our room was amazing. We had issues with the floor being dirty but the woman working in housekeeper was so kind and stayed on top of cleaning our room. I wish I knew her name because she made our room perfect and even left us candies on the bed. It is located near a lot of great food places fyi. I have pictures of after we were leaving and of the cute bed all fixed up. If I was confident about getting a room without noisy neighbors I would 100% stay here again!

The bathtub had a hard time draining so often you would be standing in almost ankle deep water in the tub while showering. Kind of gross but that wasn't my biggest issue. My biggest issue with staying here is the noise. Not the outside noise because that was minimal to none. This hotel must let people live here and the people living upstairs were awful. The staff made it seem like there was a lot of people living in the same room and that they've been there for quite a while. They would make noise consistently throughout the nights making it hard to sleep. They wouldn't just stomp. It sounded like they were moving furniture, jumping, scratching the floor, dropping heavy objects over and over again. I was losing my mind and we needed to get up early a couple of those mornings so this made it suck. I had to contact the main desk a couple of times. The first young guy I talked to about it did not seem to care at all and was rude to me. I believe the only person that was able to make a difference was the same wonderful woman that took care of our room. She was able to get them to stop. They had a couple moments but nothing that made me go crazy. I was finally able to sleep after dealing with this for days. As long as you're on the 3rd floor you should be fine.

The staff were great, but we wore our shoes the whole time, because of how gross the floors were.

We like the price point and location.

The room was very dirty. There was visible dirt on the floor in the bathroom and many dents and patchwork on the door.

Should have booked an Airbnb

Good location. Thats about it. Its a pretty run-down place that was generally pretty dirty.

The elevator felt sketchy. They had a temporary permit on it that had expired a year ago. You could hear noises from guests above us and outside. Photos of the place must have been taken when it first opened.....30 years ago? It looks like they try to keep it generally clean but theres stains and scuffs all over the place. It just needs to be gutted and remodelled.

It was an older hotel and the facilities need a lot of maintenance, but for its price point, its fine.

One of the better value places around, but don’t expect too much.

Great location with a quick walk to some great restaurants, drive to downtown and the zoo was pretty easy from here as well. Staff was friendly enough.

When I made the reservation, I stated I would check in a 3. When we arrived, there was a handwritten note on the front desk saying “Check ins will be at 4 today”. Pretty annoying to have to wait an hour after driving 6 hours. Also, there was no free coffee like they said, and the “free breakfast” was some packets of instant oatmeal, which also wasn’t even available in the morning.

The hotel is MUCH better now after the remodel, clean, with nice beds and a giant TV. It is still b budget hotel, but probably the best one in Point Loma, if not San Diego.

Nit picking here, but the interior painter wasn't very good, they should probably send in a good painter on a room by room "clean up" sweep.

It was overall a good stay.

The new manager from HI was so friendly and welcoming.😊

There were bags of laundry right outside our room upon arrival like sheets and bedding left there by the cleaning person overnight. Also cleaning staff in the morning was not friendly and entered our room 3 hours before check out time and tried to stop me from going in after getting morning coffee to take a shower.
