Location.
TV did not work and I couldn't figure out how to get it to work. Also the window did not have any screen and there were many pigeons right outside ready to come in.

The room did what it needed to do for the price that it was, I think maybe a warning that they were under renovations woud have been nice in advance. The location can not be beat though, you are in the middle of Chinatown and little Italy and surrounded by some of the best restaurants you will ever have in your life. The streets are crawling with nightlife also in that area so there is endless amounts of things to do all throughout the night. The hotel itself was okay but where it is placed was honestly jawdropping
The hotel room was very much a place we would only go to sleep. It had a bed, a bathroom and a locked door. The window was cracked and I almost took the shower handle off because it wasn't screwed on all the way but overall it was clean and it was safe. Bring earplugs because you can hear other people in the halls very clearly.

The location was the biggest benefit. I was right between Chinatown and Little Italy, so there was plenty to see and do. Public transportation was very convenient, and parts of downtown were within walking distance.
I didn't like that the hotel was a two-story walk-up, as I was carrying a heavy suitcase. The bathroom was tiny; a literal water closet with the toilet paper roll dispenser TAPED to the wall. (Apparently it was broken and not properly repaired.) There were no ironing boards or washcloths, and cleaning was only done upon request. My only complaint about the location is that the hotel is right next to a famous "gentlemen's club" and downhill from a busy liquor store, so nights were noisy. Fortunately, I closed my window and blocked out some of the noise, but it usually took hours for things to quiet down. Overall, Europa Hotel was merely a place to lay my head for six days in San Francisco. I've stayed at better hotels in this city for less and enjoyed much better amenities. I got by with this place, but I wouldn't stay here again if I could help it.
