Great little traditional roadside motel. Perfectly located for Hearst Castle & The Elephant seals. Room was spacious & clean. Very good value for the room. Overall would recommend for a budget. Liked that it had a restaurant & bar attached. The meals were substantial. The pepperoni pizza was great.
Would prefer a kettle in the room, rather than an unusable coffee percolator. Pillows need replacing-stat, the metal (I think a heater) device in the room was a rusty dusty eyesore. It needs a clean at least but the rest of the room was clean, just old. The linen was very worn, but clean, I was worried it would tear.
The health warning on the upstairs balcony gave me pause, maybe I didn’t read the blurb properly but I think that should be transparent to guests before arrival. The budget value does not extend to the restaurant.

Love the fact that it was a few minutes away from everything
Great restaurants. Great view ocean Hearst castle, antiquing shopping.
Beds were a little too firm for me. There was no hot water in the shower. And no microwave.
