I will definitely plan to stay again. Great value in a desirable hamlet.

Advertised as breakfast included. And it was, but in a basket at the front door in the morning. This is weak. Ingredients were "off the shelf." We are in Carmel, a place with great food nearby. No excuse a little, fresh, goodie can't be included. I know off-site locations are available, but for me as a traveler that enjoys a day or two relaxing and sleeping in, going out for breakfast is not so doable. The "breakfast included" a bit mis-leading. Also, perhaps you can change the breakfast item's packaging to something more recyclable and less styrofoam and plastic wraps.

Location and price

Construction across the street, thin walls, had to listen to couple talking in next room until 1 a.m. Dirty windows with no screens. Stained carpets. "Breakfast" wasn't explained and was mostly dairy products.

The water pressure in the shower was too weak. It took us longer to shower and wash the soap. The balcony sliding door lock did not latch to lock. They had a long piece of wood standing at the end of the sliding door, maybe to brace the door as a lock. We saw a foot print in the balcony ledge that looked like somebody was trying to go across from the other room previously. The hotel receptionist did not even inform us that they were serving breakfast when we checked in which was included. I always bring disinfectant wipes when go to hotels. I wiped down the chairs, tables refrigerator and found it to be not so clean. When we were to check out at 8am and there was no one at the office. There was another guest waiting to check out, and she said we had been waiting for an hour. I had to call the office from my cellphone, and the hotel employee answered and said, "You can place the key in the room and lock the door" The other guest said so there is no breakfast if the office is close. It was not a pleasant experience.

The parking for vehicle was some not quite right. It can be correct for easier moveable parking.

The room was clean. At least the coffee was available at the office.

The bathroom was small. According to the desk staff, the hair dryer was not operational due to some electrical problem but it was not replaced until a day later and did not operate. No coffee brewer, as per staff, it was broken but not replaced. Someone smoked in the room and the smell was still evident. The breakfast basket was not delivered to the entry door and one must go to the office to retrieve it. Yet, for the 41 years we have been coming here, the price of the rooms was not as per Expedia and was not acceptable to be canceled as we found out later. I will not return to this location again. Sorry.

The whole place was sketchy. They refused to give us the room, then charged us for it.

Nothing went well and we have an open dispute over the charge. We needed pet friendly but when we got there (late in the evening) they refused to let us stay, saying only Service Dogs were allowed. We told them we'd leave the dogs in the car, still a no. We ended up having to sleep in our car. Clarion promised there would NOT be a charge since they didn't let us stay, and that they wouldn't bill us. The employee also said they called their boss who said he would fire them if they did let us. Well, we were charged over $200.00 to sleep in our car with our dogs. Booking.com is a scam, they made me enter my 3 digit code on the card to make the reservation, and after you complete the transaction it says you cannot cancel. No one to talk to about it.. Had to cancel my card because who knows who has my information now. Thank goodness CITI is pursuing this for us and hopefully we'll get our money back.

Booking.com basically stole my credit card information, so had to cancel my card, no one to talk to at booking.com. I've opened a dispute and CITI is working on it. The man at the hotel was just as bad, refusing to let us stay, promising we wouldn't be charged, saying his boss would fire him if he did let us stay. The whole experience was awful, a 68 yr old and a 76 yr old, after driving 3000 miles had to sleep in the car with 2 dogs.

Would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to friends.

Perfect location. We parked our car when we arrived and didn’t use it again until we left.

The shower was very small. We are not even slightly big and it was difficult to rinseoff due to the shower size.

Will not recommend this hotel.

Nothing.

Very disappointing. My reservation coincided with severe weather conditions, streets were flooded, electrical power was down, restaurants were closed and all beached accesses were damaged. My attempts to reschedule were handled badly and very unprofessional, resulting in a complete loss of my reservation costs. Usually I visit Carmel every year at this low tourist time and could not not understand why the staff could not accommodate me considering this historical storm.

Very poor service, inconveniences and sloppy housekeeping--definitely not worth the price.

Good location in Carmel, room was adequate size.

Desk clerk was not present on the property--had to call and then wait up to ten minutes for him to come from elsewhere. Coffee still in coffee pot, used toiletries left on tray, food in the refrigerator. Bed was not a full king (measured it--70 x 76). No breakfast was available, although our reservation clearly stated that it would be. When we called (still no one at the desk) we were first told there was no breakfast served, but when we stated that our reservation said it would be we were brought a basket with several items in it. So we had no choices, and cereal was brought in unsealed containers so we had no idea it how it might have been handled. Our handicapped parking spot blocked another car so we were unable to use it the first night. Disappointing for the price we paid. Wouldn't stay there again.

Nice and fair priced room incl. parking

Very friendly welcome, good explanation about the room and the surrounding area. The central location and walking distance to the beach as well as the small breakfast in the morning. Very charming town though focusing on wealthy people rather than average tourists.

WiFi unfortunately did not work in the room in the evening and morning. The water pressure in the shower was practically non-existent.... But that was really the only thing that can be criticized. Otherwise, top price-performance ratio and very central location to reach all amenities on foot.

Bedding and towels great quality. Bathroom was nice. Maid service good and friendly.

Staff never in office...had to call a phone number and then they came, and were very nice when they came. Pictures showed fireplaces...none.
