Silver Cloud Hotel - Seattle Broadway

It was clean

The parking

Upgrade to a suite was great!

Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Staff was pleasant and friendly. This is an easy location for car travel in Seattle, and the neighborhood is pleasantly walkable with less tourist fuss than the waterfront. The restaurant Jimmy's served us an excellent breakfast.

What I liked most was the little design features that made a big difference. One, I liked that on the back of the door was a place for you to put your room key. I LOVED that feature. It's little, but it makes a big difference, we always knew were the key was because there was a specific place for it. The other feature I liked was two benches to place your luggage. I do not like placing luggage on the bed I will be sleeping on, nor the floor. Having a bench on both sides of the dresser made for a very functional unpacking. Plenty of surfaces next to both beds. I liked that you needed a keycard to get up the elevator to the suites.

I wish there was complimentary water in the rooms. I do not like Keurigs it would have been nice to have a standard old school coffee pot with coffee grounds, sugar, and creamer in the room. The place did feel very bare minimal for a lot of money. I understand it is Seattle but a little low cost comforts can make a big difference in a person's stay. I also did not like that there are two hotels with the same name. I accidentally booked this one thinking it was the other Silver Cloud Hotel in a much better side of town. This one made for nightly walks, slightly frightening. There is a park nearby that you SHALL NOT take your child to. Additionally I wish there was security or a door attendant to monitor if someone is a guest staying at the hotel. We were followed in by two men who walked behind us to the elevator, we thought the vibe was off so we went and sat in the lobby, while they stood around by the elevator waiting for someone to let them up, before they gave up and walked out the hotel. During this time there was not a single staff in sight to even report the suspicious activity to. No shade on the staff because they were really kind and polite and busting their butts, this is all shade on upper management and beyond who clearly have an understaffed hotel in a sketchy part of the city. What would have happened had we not been aware of our surroundings and those men went with us in the elevator?
