The room was very spacious and tastefully decorated . The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is centrally located and the Dupont circle neighborhood is lovely. We enjoyed our conversation with Johnnie at dinner and Mauricio and Jose at breakfast. They contributed to our positive DC experience. We appreciated the free bike rental offered by the hotel.
Breakfast is included but it is a actually a certain amount which you get (25USD/ person in our case) which you most certainly shall exceed after payment of taxes and a tip. We did not appreciate a server on our very last morning slipping an 18% hotel gratuity charge in our breakfast bill (this had not been done by any of the other servers previously).The hotel had also not accounted for certain gratuities in our final statement but thanks to the lady at the main desk (sadly, I didn’t write down her name), we were able to resolve the matter efficiently

Good location
Terrible check-in experience. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome from the moment I arrived. The service at check-in was disappointing and did not create a pleasant or welcoming atmosphere at all. Unfortunately, it left a very negative first impression.
The only positive part of my experience was the valet parking staff — they were excellent, professional, and kind.
