Great location and great food
Outward appearances are deceptive, but all to a good standard: it’s not a typical quaint French hotel! Lack of vegetables on the menu and a vegetarian would struggle here. A slight musty smell in the room.

Older style hotel (no lift, bit of a rabbit-warren, mechanical door locks - which means no multiple keys to the room to leave children separate from parents) but hugely well cared-for and invested-in. Impressive restaurant - we ate very well, thank you. Good breakfast choice. Had to park in an electric-vehicle designated space on arrival but the staff didn't have a problem/hissy-fit as it hadn't been reserved. Super overall. The hotel is on our journey Clermont to Royan for holidays. We'd previously stopped en route at Angouleme (and did on the way out) but this hotel will do nicely instead for the next trip(s). Recommended.

They had a room when I needed one last minute! Bed was comfy. Nice staff.
Small rooms, no lift, strange access to rooms.
Nothing to do with hotel but has to be noted… two British women having a heated discussion in the reception area. 🙈
