The staff were a delight…..made the stay…..very well run establishment
The food was excellent
Niggles only…..weak wifi in the suites……washbasin that was too big for the en suite….no table or appropriate power point for the tea and coffee..general lack of furniture and flat surfaces……room ergonomics not thought through….fold out case stand might have been good

This was our favorite hotel that we stayed in on our 10 day trip to Scotland. The location, hotel, and property is so picturesque. The staff were so friendly and so accommodating. We ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant on site. The food was delicious. Don’t miss out on the sticky toffee pudding. It’s delicious.

Breakfast. I'd been to the Merkister before, and find that the hotel was disappointing this time. The room was small and basic, with no where to work with laptop and some documents. The breakfast was much better, a reminder of what I had appreciated in the past.
Dinner in the bar. We had to dine in the bar, which was not a very pleasing experience. Why little paper napkins with the evening meal?
