Everything for the staff to the food and how clean it always is

I basically had a nice relaxing holiday. The location is superb (ocean view from the sun loungers in the garden) and the breakfast was of reasonably high quality. There are enough sun loungers for everyone and many pools to enjoy. Even though it is a huge hotel I never felt “a mass”. The staff is extremely friendly and go the extra mile to give you a good time. Kudos to them! The hotel is walking distance away from restaurants, supermarkets, etc.
I have 3 things that bothered me during my stay:
First, the hotel has a dated look& feel. I was told that it was build in the early 00ies but it feels like it dates from the early 80ies. Apart from the architectural style, the hotel feels tired and worn. Furniture with scratches, drawers that are sitting crooked, a "shower" in a bathtub, bare patches in the lawn in the garden, TL tube lights, some old gym machines, etc, etc. If you like this, fine but for the price they charge and based on the pictures I was expecting a more modern hotel.
Second, the hotel really has a problem with hygiene. I found hairs of the cleaning staff (I don’t have long hair) in my bed, in the bathtub and on the floor. On one day, a french fry fell on the floor of my room and it was still there 24h laters. I saw dust in corners, splashes on walls, a green stripe of algae in the swimming pool etc. This is unacceptable.
Third, the catering is pretty dreadful for its price. The restaurants are soulless and basically al serve the same international dishes at steep prices. The drinks near the pool are unsophisticated and expensive. For example, a cuba libre was just rum, some lemon syrup and coke from the dispenser. Student parties do better.

The room was quite spacious. We like the idea of the swim-up pool, but unfortunately, the sun was catching the room only for a few hours.
The staff at the hotel was unpleasant, confusing and sometimes even rude. I don't recommend the hotel for anyone who pays attention to that. The rules of using the restaurants with the full board were confusing and everyone was giving a different information. Also, the hotel seem already outdated.
