Phenomenal

Booked this after our accommodations fell through at the last minute, and this ended up being our favorite stay of our entire honeymoon!! Everything was phenomenal. We will be back!!

Grand old hotel with lots of charm and class in amazing location. Highly recommended. Punches above.

Where to begin. I didnt have any pre-expectations going to this hotel, so I was quite blown away at how good it is. Location is insanely beautiful right on Killarney lakes with a mountain view and a ruined castle in the foreground, and also with nice on-grounds walks to historic places like Muckross Abbey. Very much feels like an old world classy hunting lodge type hotel, something like The Shining could have been filmed here. Lots of history, charm and class on display. The food was great - the restaurant was fully booked so we couldn't get a seat (I only tried an hour beforehand), but the meal I had in the lounge was one of the best I had in Ireland (hake) and bordering on fine dining (I passed my compliments to the chef several times). Staff were all young, from around Europe, charming, engaging, had good camaraderie between themselves and looked like they were having fun, which speaks to great back of house management. We only stayed one night and regretted we had to leave, next time I'll stay longer. This is a 4 star hotel that felt like it should be 5 star. Highly recommended.

Not a gripe but some areas of suggestion: - right on a lake but didnt seem to be many lake based activities going on, eg kayaking, rowing, sailing etc......I didnt enquire but didnt see anybody on the lake doing anything, other than walking around it. Is there is an opportunity to expand and put a water activity centre? Maybe national park restrictions dont allow it - we were in the new wing, which is not connected by elevators to the reception and old area...so bit of a trek upstairs, along the first floor, then back downstairs to get to the room. Fine for us but older folk might struggle with their bags or the stairs. On check-in a porter did bring our bags to the rooms.

Very comfortable deluxe accommodation with excellent service

Private, idyllic location on a lake backed by the mountains leading to the ring of Kerry. Staff were amazing. Everyone was constantly cleaning and polishing. And the food was superb!!

perfect stop to enjoy the ring of kerry

Views were great- rooms were great- breakfast was great- all great!

Website confusing- and felt we needed to book two rooms as we had three people- when we go there- clearly one of the rooms could accommodate 3 people- so we cancelled the other- but still had to pay one night

Fantastic stay at The Lake Hotel

The hotel staff and the spa were exceptional. Stunning location and view from the room.

The sauna could have been warmer, and entertainment in the bar could have been better aimed very much at older adults.

Great hotel and amazing location

Loved the locations. Amazing views. Excellent service as well.

The dining room is not big enough for everyone at breakfast so once full you get relegated to another space which isn’t as good. Feels a bit second class.

An amazing location with beautiful views, plenty of activities and a very friendly staff!

One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. the staff was personable and knowledgeable. Food was good. Surrounding area had plenty of sites to see and activities! Hope to return for a longer adventure in the future.

i loved the location of the property was situated in a very picturesque part of killarney overlooking the killarney national park .

i thought the evening dining was very unpleasant, very expensive not enough food on the plate and not very pleasant to eat i wouldn’t eat again and certainly wouldn’t recommend was very disappointed .

Wonderful staff, location and the quintessential Irish experience!

Amazing location right on the lake in Killarney! The views of the lake and mountains were amazing to wake up to each day, with the service from all staff exceptional. Dinner in the restaurant is highly recommended.
