About this condo rental

Located in Traverse City, this attractive condo for $269 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. STEP INTO HISTORY! The Village at Grand Traverse Commons is an experience like no other. Formerly the Traverse City State Hospital--this marvel of preservation is now a bustling community of mixed commercial and residential uses. I purchased this condo in 2017. It is located on the top (3rd) floor of Cottage 20. It is accessible by elevator and is also equipped with its own private washer and dryer. The space is ideally suited for 2 people--but could accommodate 2 additional guests on the queen sized, memory foam sleeper sofa. This is a wonderful vantage point from which to explore the area. It is cozy, comfortable and equipped with everything you need to make your stay feel relaxed and carefree. There is an electric fireplace for added ambiance and warmth. Guests may also enjoy the gorgeous front covered porch. Feel free to check out my other vrbo properties and reviews and book your trip with confidence: Vrbo: 571434 Vrbo: 815348 Please contact me if you have any questions. Was looking for a great spot for a long weekend away. This was perfect. The location was amazing. The space was ideal - cozy and comfortable with more than enough space for one or two people.

The property is great and the location is especially cool being in the re-developed former state hospital. Lots to do and see, and good dining options without getting in the car. Absolutely would stay here again.

Our family- myself, husband and our 12 yr. Son stayed here. The place was so cozy. Very nicely decorated. Had plenty of blankets/bedding/ linens. We did not cook but it was well appointed to do so. The pull out bed was comfy for my son. Main bedroom was so pretty with comfy bed. We really enjoyed our stay. I was able to get studying done. The Villages is really a destination. We did not venture much further. Took walks on the paths. Toured the grounds with tour group. We really enjoyed the tour. This is our 3rd time to the villages but was 1st time at this vrbo. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for sharing your place with us Sally.

This was a beautiful unit in a historical building on a bustling campus. There was always something happening during our weekend stay and I was honestly shocked just how quiet the unit was. Because stepping outside the door, you were met with a cacophony of sounds and bustle. Inside, all you hear is the creak of the historic floors and I found it quite charming and reminded me that even though the unit is fully modern and stylish, the history still lingers. It did not disappoint and we WILL be back! A couple little things to note for those that read the reviews. 1. The sofa sleeper is memory foam. It won't be a life-changing sleep, but it was by far the most comfortable sofa bed I've encountered in my 44 years on Earth. Don't be afraid to make use of it for a few nights if your party requires an extra bed. 2. If you have time, do take one of the many tours offered on the campus. They do an amazing job of explaining the history and settling the nerves of anyone in your party that is a little hesitant about staying in an old asylum/state hospital. 3. If you book this unit (or any on campus) make your dining reservations now. We let it linger a little too long trying to decide and missed some opportunities. 4. Don't be frightened. It was a very peaceful location and the only strange experiences we had was the car hatch opening on its own in the night and the clock radio turning itself on one afternoon. I was more frightened by the restaurant wait times. Thanks for sharing!

Unit is very cozy and does not feel small or cramped. Clean, and nicely decorated. Perfect size for a couple. Quiet location with easy parking and access. We've stayed at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons many times, it's a wonderful location with fascinating history, on its own quiet campus but only a couple minutes from Front Street. Highly recommend the location and this unit. We will definitely be back.

We didn’t sleep either night due to rodent noises in the walls/ceiling.
