About this house rental

Situated in Smith Mountain Lake, this attractive house for $277 per night is a great option for your next trip. Located on the end of a quiet cove with little boat traffic, the home has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and dining area which seats six and a cozy living room with a smart TV and DVD/Blu-ray player. A sun room extends off the living room. A deck overlooks the woods and dock. A full bath and a large master bedroom with a king size bed complete the upper level. Downstairs is another full bath, a second bedroom with a queen size bed and a third bedroom with a twin over double bunk bed. The family room on this level has a queen size sleeper and another smart TV with a DVD/Blu-ray player. Sliding glass doors open to the covered patio. A washer and dryer are located on this level. Residential Internet is now available in our area so we've added Internet and WiFi at our house for our guests. The dock has room for your boat and PWC and there is a large party deck above the dock. You can take the stairs to the dock or walk down the gravel path. We've kept the rental price lower than most because there are a lot of stairs to get to the dock and portions of the gravel path are steep. A community area with a tennis court, 2 pickleball courts, a basketball area and a large open field with a volleyball court is across the street. Crystal Shores Marina (formerly the Smith Mountain Yacht Club), a state boat ramp, several marinas and the state park are close by. Location, Location, Location!: The house is conveniently located across from the R-27A marker which is between Halesford Bridge and the SML State Park. The Halesford Bridge area and Bridgewater Plaza are about 5 minutes by boat and 10 minutes by car. Here you will find several restaurants, shops, game arcade, miniature golf, and an ice cream parlor. There are also several marinas in this area that have fuel and rent boats and jet skis. The State Park is about 10 minutes by boat and 15 minutes by car. It features a boat dock, sandy beach, concession stand, nature tours and plenty of open area. The Westlake area is about 15 minutes by car and is inaccessible by boat. It has a Kroger grocery store, CVS pharmacy, several specialty shops, more restaurants and a movie theater. A Food Lion grocery store is only 5 minutes from the house. More Features: The house is located on the end of a quiet cove with few waves and very little boat traffic. My kids love to swim and fish off the dock and there is a canoe and two sit-on-top kayaks available on the dock so you can float around the cove or paddle around the lake. There is a 10' X 20' floater for docking your boat or jet skis. Directly across the street from the house is a large open community area that is great for soccer, football, kickball or Frisbee and can be used for overflow car or boat trailer parking. A fenced multipurpose court is also located here and my kids and I play pickleball, tennis and throw the lacrosse ball here. Pickleball paddles and balls are available for our guests to use. We rent weekly during the summer, Sunday to Sunday. We take summer rentals of less than a week only if the house is still available at the last minute, like a week prior for a 2 night rental, two weeks prior for a 3 night rental, three weeks prior for a 4 night rental, and four weeks prior for a 5 night rental. When I rent, I like to pay a refundable security deposit instead of paying damage insurance so I've enabled that option. However, if you'd prefer to pay for insurance, please let me know and I'll enable that for you.

Everything met/exceeded our expectations. Yes, the walkway to the dock was a workout, but that wasn't a surprise. The home was clean and the few maintenance issues were merely cosmetic. We would definitely stay here again.

The property was just right for our group of six. The description is accurate regarding the stairs down to the lake. We found everything needed in the house for a week at the lake; TV, internet, beds, sofas, kitchen and bbq grill. Communication with the property owner was very prompt.

Peaceful is correct. This location is tucked away in a quiet cove. We felt like the only ones on the lake even on July 4th weekend. We loved fishing from the dock and kayaking in the mornings. The house was comfortable and well equipped.

Perfect for fishing, swimming and family time out at smith mountain. Access to public boat ramp. Family fun and dining about a 15 min drive and 10 min drive from Food Lion. Landlord communicated promptly and gave me all my information in such a timely manor. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay. Price is perfect value!

Great location on the quiet side of the lake exactly what we needed,the steps to the lake are alot on the way back ,and at night you can't really go hang by the water because the stairs to the water don't have enough lighting plus if there is any condensation they are very slippery. It does need a little bit of a better cleaning job.Overall though the house has everything you need for the lake and great spot next to pickle ball and basketball court and the owner Chris was great at communicating and getting right back to us when we had any questions.

My sister and I, along with our 37 yr old daughters, decided to have a weekend just for us, the first in 15 years. This was a wonderful place to reminisce and share family memories . Great hiking opportunities, kayaking, and other local attractions of special interest such as a visit to the Alpaca Farm, ice cream from the Homestead creamery….lots of local fun!

The house was clean, there were toys and games for the kids, and the cove was nice and quiet. Would stay again. Make sure to take everything for the boat on the first trip. You only want to do the stairs once a day! :-)

We had a great week. House was a quick commute to restaurants by land and boat. Every room in the house was very clean and lots of space for family. There were many stairs going down to the dock. Owner was easy to reach and communicate with. We enjoyed our vacation at the lake!

The house was just right for our family. We had plenty of space, everything we needed and really enjoyed the peaceful location at the end of the cove. We paddled around and enjoyed swimming off the dock. A few houses down we heard a lot of music as we paddled by but back at the dock is was quiet and relaxing. Everything we needed was available to enjoy all of our meals at the house. And we had fun playing some of the games there. Check in and out was super easy. All and all we had a great stay.

We had a great time at Chris’s property. He was very responsive and accommodating. The house was well stocked with everything we could need. My four year old loved all sports gear (we brought our own tennis stuff), children’s books, pool noodles, board games, puzzles, bunk bed, and the poker table and poker chips! We enjoyed the canoe and kayaks and loved swimming and fishing from the dock. Our first trip to SML was a great one and we hope to return someday!
