Centrally located in Chattanooga in the trendy St Elmo Historic District, at the foot of Lookout Mountain. Private Lilly's Loft (Carriage House 2nd floor), with its own entrance, offers historic charm with modern-day amenities. Wonderful, the private apartment including one bedroom, full bath, kitchen, living, dining, and light-filled sunroom overlooking the beautiful gardens. **Custom, fully equipped kitchen with gas stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator. A variety of small appliances including toaster, mixer, crock pot, and electric tea kettle. The kitchen comes equipped with a Keurig and well stocked variety of coffee, teas and hot chocolate and related condiments. The basics are kept stocked for your convenience: paper towels, garbage bags, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, foils and plastic wrap, salt and pepper, spices, olive oil, canola oil, sugar and some breakfast items. **Beautiful light filled sunroom/dining room with dining for 4 and a cozy nook for reading or relaxing. **Comfortable living room with ample seating, games, high speed Wifi, electric fireplace, large smart HDTV with Cable, Amazon Prime and Netflix - a wonderful gathering space for you to relax and enjoy your visit. **Resource center in living room with desk, office supplies, vacations guides, reading materials. **Restful bedroom includes a queen bed with high end mattress, luxury bedding and linens, iron and ironing board, full length mirror, luggage racks, water bottles, bedside radio/clock with 2 outlets and 2 ports for charging your devices, high speed Wifi, and smart HDTV with Cable, Amazon Prime and Netflix. **Upgraded full size bathroom with bathtub/shower combination, hair dryer, and specialty toiletries from nationally known local store Good Fortune (soaps, body wash, bath salts, lotion), luxury towels and numerous amenities. **Separate laundry room with large capacity washer and dryer. Laundry room located in the main house (Bear House). Shared between the Carriage House (Sherfey Suite & Lilly''s Loft) and Stinson Suite in the main house. **Note on ceiling heights: All ceilings are 7' tall with the exception of the sun room that you walk into from the deck entrance. It is a sloped ceiling about 6' 4â-6â8â. Our spacious property offers many opportunities for gathering spaces outdoors. The large old-fashioned front porch, courtyard garden and gazebo are wonderful spots for morning coffee, a special evening meal, or a place to relax in a comfortable chair with a good book. The special garden areas, and larger outdoor seating areas provide additional space for your enjoyment. Be sure to explore the carved bears placed around the property and hear their story! In the spring and summer, help yourself to the blackberries and small vegetable garden. And donât miss the scavenger hunt; over 40 sculptured animals roam the property for you to find. Our beautiful large property sits on an entire block, front to back, in the charming St Elmo Historic District. There is the majestic main house called Historic Bear House 1890 (6500sqft) that consists of 3 other private apartments. My husband and I reside on the private first floor in the main house. Just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the main house, through the luscious courtyard, is the Carriage House (1600sqft) with 2 private apartments. This unit was so delightful and had everything a short or long term renter needs. Everything was compact and yet so cozy and just invited the occupant to stay in and be comfortable. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was equipped with full size appliances and matching cookware, there was a separate dining area that also was a sun room (excellent on those sunny days!), the reclinable couch was super comfy and perfect for TV watching or reading a book. The bedroom had a large closet to keep clothes and more in. Our hosts were responsive to all of our needs and very willing to make our stay memorable. When we first arrived we were thrilled with all the little touches that make this place a cut above: welcome snacks, fully stocked Keurig and tea service, bowls of candy for our enjoyment and extra hygiene items in a pinch. The outside grounds were welcoming for just hanging out with multiple gathering spots: a cozy nook on the front porch, a beautiful pergola with wrought iron seating and an another open air table and chair area. Being so close to a business district, it took no time to travel to our many attractions we visited. You will definitely want to check this place out if you are staying in Chattanooga!

This was a wonderful place to stay. Itâs close to Rock City, a short drive to the Aquarium. The apartment was spacious, well-decorated comfortable. We followed the ownerâs recommendations on eating out & weâre glad we did.

WOW! We LOVED IT!!! The Sherfeyâs thought of everything! The bed was so comfy and the suite was lovely! We had everything we could needâŠâŠcoffee, snacks and a full kitchen stocked with utensils and pots and pans! The grounds were very pretty with lots of nice places to sit and enjoy the outdoors. We were only there for two nights but would love to come back again soon!

We stayed in Lillyâs loft for a week for a work and vacation trip. Comfortable - darling place! Hosts were very hospitable and even gave us a history lesson of the house and neighborhood.
Highly recommend staying in one of Sharmin and Steveâs spaces at the Bear House.

Our stay was incredibly relaxing. The loft was adorable and everyone was so friendly! The gardens are exquisite and the blackberries are delicious. The extras provided to us were unexpected and delightful - snacks, water, toiletries. This will be our go-to spot for a weekend getaway.

We had a great time, even though the weather didnât always cooperate. accommodations were awesome. Loved the decor and the beautiful gardens. The area was great as well. We came primarily to visit the battle field and other civil war attractions but also to visit family. Would highly recommend the lodgings and travel location.

We stayed 3 nights in Lily's Loft at the 1890 Bear House (under $400 including fees and FREE parking). After staying 1 night in downtown Chattanooga, I wouldn't do that again. Location and price can't be beat. We walked to the Incline Railway, Clumpies, 1885. A short drive to Rock City (a must see), Ruby Falls, Chickamauga Battlefield (watch the film 1st) the National Cemetery (like a smaller Arlington) the aquarium is nice also.
Lily's loft was so cute. Fully stocked kitchen with coffee, Oatmeal, snack bars, spices, candy and bottled water. The bathroom (may be a little tight for some larger people) even had feminine hygiene products. There are stairs that lead to a downstairs unit if you have more people. The sunroom had a cabin like feel. Sofa has 2 sides that recline, very comfortable. Also try Han Mi for Korean fried chicken, Honey Seed for breakfast. I researched places to stay in Chattanooga for a couple weeks before deciding on the Bear House (due to size of the apt). I would highly recommend. It's a quiet and safe area. Lot's of outdoor seating too.

We spent a week visiting Chattanooga. "The Bear House" was immaculately clean, fully equipped (including a basket with moon pies and other treats) and is located with easy access to the tourist attractions. The Incline Railway and several restaurants are within walking distance and there is a stop for the free trolley a block from the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and our stay at The Bear House.

My husband and I stayed here for 8 days while we hiked, golfed and explored the area. The accomodations were perfect for us with plenty of space including closets and an office area for me to work. We loved the location within walking distance of restaurants, the Inline Railway, the Guild Trail, shopping. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful we felt welcome and comfortable. Will rent this again!
