About this cabin rental
Situated in Truckee, this lovely cabin for $317 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Bright and sunny cabin in the woods. Great open space perfect for families to hang out every season. The cabin is located 5 minutes from Donner Lake,Truckee and the Tahoe Donner pools, tennis, fitness center, golf and driving range. Two small families canoe comfortably fit in the house and will be sure to create fun family memories. There are 3 bedrooms (master suite with king, one queen and a double bunk room). There is also a comfortable fold out queen sofa bed and additional ottoman single sleeper bed if needed. The front yard is on a gentle slope perfect for sledding with the kids in the winter and a flat yard in the back perfect for just running around in the summer. The house has a new hot tub on the back patio... great in the winter and summer. There is a gas firepit in the summer you can use perfect for roasting marshmallows or just enjoying the scenery. In the winter, it's a quick drive to the slopes...15 minutes from Sugarbowl, 20 minutes from Northstar and Squaw. In the summer, relax on the sunny deck or peaceful backyard swing or drive down the hill to Donner Lake and enjoy guest access (for a daily fee) to the private marina where you can paddleboard, sail, kayak or just relax by the lake. The house also has guest access for a daily fee to the Tahoe Donner pools, private beach marina, fitness center, equestrian center, tennis, and golf. Head out for a nature walk from the front door to check out the beaver dams and flying squirrels, climb granite boulders, explore the creek or hike the miles of trails around the house. Lake Tahoe beaches are less than a half hour away. You can white water raft the Truckee river, test your fear of heights at Treetop adventures, mountain bike and hike the many trails nearby. There are so many ways for your family to enjoy the house in every season. Sorry we do not accept ski leases at this time. STR 028470

Our family really enjoyed staying Karen’s house. Everything was well stocked and kids loved playing board games away from electronic devices. Neighbors are quiet and surrounded by forest. There is a nice trail from the backyard that we enjoyed walking or running.
We like to stay Karen’s house next time when we visit Tahoe.

We loved this house as a getaway girls weekend. The location was perfect, flying into Reno and a beautiful short 40 min drive to Truckee. Karen was very communicative and the house had everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub, quiet neighborhood, shopping and dining in the area. I would recommend this house to anyone in need of a weekend or even longer away!

House was great! We arrived a day after a major storm and it was easy to get into the garage and house. A narrow path to the hot tub was even shoveled! Lots of kitchen ware to cook and plenty of room to spread out. Hardwood floors were especially nice for my son with allergies.
Karen was super communicative and responsive. We touched base given there was another storm rolling in and she sent emails with all of the neighborhood snow removal updates.

We stayed here to get some snow time in, and this was the perfect spot! Between the great backyard (built a sled track and tunnel), the layout of the house and hot tub, this was everything we needed. We had two families (4 adults and 4 children ages 5-9), and we enough space. The bunk bed room was on point. The owner was so clear and responsive in her communication. The kitchen has what we needed to prepare all our meals. Thank you for the wonderful trip Karen!

We enjoyed the cabin over new years, easy check in, we had all the amenities needed. Even better our fur babies enjoyed their trip. This location is close to town so that makes it super easy if you need groceries, or want to explore. It’s also very close to the ski resorts.
We had so much fun getting snowed in for the day. Snowball fights , movies and drinks. It was great.

Had a wonderful time with my family at this cabin. It had everything you needed to make your stay relaxing and joy able. The only thing we had issue with was tv had no idea there was no cable until after we booked. Other then the tv issue once we figured out everything was good.

The house was clean and matched description on site. Owners were responsive when internet wasn’t working on a holiday, which we really appreciated. We were happy to have a place for our dogs, hot tub, kids games and sledding hill within walking distance. It was a nice touch to have the cabinets and drawers labeled as well. Thanks!

We spent a wonderful Labor day weekend at the Z Cabin. The owners are very gracious and the property has everything one needs regardless of the season. The Z Cabin is located in a very quiet neighborhood of the historic Tahoe Donner area offering tremendous privacy.
The best part for us was the easy hiking access to smazing downtown Truckee and proximity to other Donner lake and Tahoe attractions. We are sure to return!

The host was great; communication was excellent. The house was well stocked with everything you would need for cooking and dining. I neglected to realize there was no air conditioning and that would be my biggest complaint. There was no screen door on the living room slider and the windows in the bedrooms didn’t open. They had sliders with very poor screens. To reach the hot tub you had to go through a bedroom and the patio was lacking and covered in weeds. Because of the lack of air conditioning I wouldn’t be able to stay here again since I only go up there in the summer. The rest I could look live with because of the location

We had a great time in Tahoe and Karen's house was very comfortable for our short stay. The best part of the experience was Karen, the owner. She was very responsive and was consistently updating me on anything going on in Tahoe that she as a text or email.

We had a great time in Tahoe and Karen's house was very comfortable for our short stay. The best part of the experience was Karen, the owner. She was very responsive and was consistently updating me on anything going on in Tahoe that she as a text or email.
