The Scuba Lodge and Suites is in a set of historic beautiful buildings on the oceanfront. The architecture is truly stunning. I absolutely love the colors of the buildings. The infinity pool is lovely. The beds are comfortable. We didn’t actually eat at the bar/restaurant, but it was certainly hopping! The bar is gorgeous.
The staff working the desk and was very nice and helpful. In particular, Dalies was a delight and responded to us after hours when we had a last minute housekeeping issue. She is a rockstar.
My main issue with Scuba Lodge is that there is no beach. On booking.com, it’s listed in the “private beach” category and its description still says it has “a private strip of artificial beach.” Instead, where the beach used to be is a rocky jetty that forms an unfinished cove. One employee called it a “work in progress.”
We were very disappointed. The entire reason we had booked this property was for the beach. Also, one of the hotel’s buildings is under construction, so if you’re outside during the day, there’s a lot of noise.
After our first night, we explained this to front desk. We wanted to check out (after the 1st night of 5) and get refunded the nights were weren’t going to use. I realize that’s not ideal, but given the lack of a major amenity like a beach, I didn’t expect too much pushback. Instead, we ended up going back and forth with the management and booking.com for 4 hours.
The Scuba Lodge’s response was first to deny that the hotel’s description on booking.com said this, until I showed screenshots. Then the response was that all the other websites didn’t mention a beach, which I sympathize with, but unfortunately booking.com still does. They tried to deny any refund. Thankfully, booking.com came through for us, and we were refunded for the nights we didn’t use. We stayed at the Lionsdive and loved it.
I had expected the description on booking.com to be changed quickly to remove any mention of a beach, but over a week later, I see it hasn’t. I don’t want others to have the same problem.
Also, we booked the “Superior Deluxe Room with Ocean View.” The listing on booking.com has photos from 2 different rooms. One has the covered porch with an unobstructed ocean view. The other, where we stayed is the Bona Vista Suite, which has a partial ocean view with an unshaded porch. It’s a 3rd floor with slanted ceilings that make it feel much smaller than it is. One seems much nicer than the other.

Beautiful pool (despite being small), great location as it is possible to go to the center on foot and it is close to the access to the highway that leads to the beaches.
Bathroom with clear glass doors, there was construction taking place next to the bedroom.

Lovely pool areas and buildings. Great restaurant that is open all day even holidays which is great. Aircon and fan in room worked very well. In general the rooms are very spacious, bed is large and comfortable, shower is also large and water/pressure is very good.
Our check-in time was 3pm and we didn't get our room until after 4pm, so we had to wait in the restaurant for over an hour sweating in our travel clothes until we could get our room and there was no apology from the staff or even offering of a free beverage while we waited. Housekeeping did not come the second day but did come the other days. Restaurant staff was friendly but depending on who you got could take a long time. However, this type of service is typical of Curacao - it's an island and they are not necessarily well paid so part of accepting you are in a different place with different service expectations. The rooms were spacious but sometimes weirdly unfurnished - we easily had room for a sofa or some armchairs in our room but instead it was just a lot of open floor space with nowhere to sit other than the bed!

We had a pleasant check in an the location is good
We checked in on new years eve on 31 december 2022 to celebrate the new year at Scuba Lodge. The room was ok but the furniture was old when we noticed that the bathroom was full of mold from wall to wall we went to informed this at the front desk and I even showed them fotos and a video of the molded bathroom.
The lady at the front desk called her supervisor on the phone and tell her that the situation of our bathroom seems bad and thereafter she informed us that they don't have anyone on duty on New years eve to clean our bathroom but that she will send me message of what will happen.
When I asked her for another room she told me that there was no other room for me and that we could go have our reserved dinner and she will send me a message.
During dinner we were unpleasantly surprised to received a message form the frontdesk lady informing us that they don't have any solution and therefore I could checkout of the room at 8:00 pm and leave Scuba Lodge.
I sent them a neat message informing that now way we could leave now at night and stay on the streat because we won't get any other accomodation to check in on this date and on this time.
After a back and forth of messages the frontdesk lady told me that she will go and clean our bathroom herself which she did slightly well.
But I couldnot use the bathroom still.
In the early morning I went to shower at a friends house instead!
I really don't appreciate how Scuba Logde handled this issue.

Beautiful boutique hotel with warm, welcoming and very accommodating staff. We were traveling as a group of 5 and as we arrived late, the reception staff immediately gave us our room keys and we did the official check in at our leisure the next morning. This was very welcome news having just travelled a very long distance! Gorgeous pool area which was the ideal place to spend a few hours relaxing. Very comfortable beds and excellent air conditioning and Wi-Fi. We had breakfast included in our stay but as we had to leave the hotel very early every morning, the restaurant staff packed us a delicious take away breakfast. No issues getting new towels for the pool or beach each day and when we asked if we could have a late check out on the day of our departure, it was very kindly facilitated at no extra cost. All these little things made our stay at Scuba Lodge very enjoyable. Thank you so much to the staff for such a wonderful week!

The stay was good, the location is very nice and central!
The place is superbly located, but a little but noisy; the restaurant entrance is located right outside your door, the room being on the ground-floor. Being a popular restaurant, for an early rest, the doors are a bit flimsy and not soundproof. Nice staff!

The location of the hotel was downtown and convenient to shops as well as restaurants. The drinks were great, and we sorry we missed breakfast, it looked delicious.

Staff (Gina and Chris are very kind and thougtful. We got a free upgrade to a bigger bedroom which was amazing, in front of the street (Zuurzak Suites).
The place is very beautiful, its restaurants, pool area, etc. And it is in a great location.
The pool next to the sea is amazing, especially in sunset. And there is a second pool.
The bedroom we booked at first was too little and the neighbor hotel's restaurant makes noise till 1 am. But when we got upgraded to a better bedroom none of that was a problem.
Not so easy to park sometimes, but that was not an issue for us, we always got some parking around 100 meters from hotel.
