Beautiful location, great room, friendly people

Beautiful location, spacious room with a very large bed. Appreciated a large fridge and microwave. The pool was great. Area very quiet. Handy location for going diving. And we arranged a waterfall trip - well organised with a great packed lunch.

A tropical paradise ❤️

Great location, friendly staff. Snorkeling is right at your doorstep! Food is really good with a variety to choose from. A very relaxing place. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

We cannot recommend this place more. Small resort with very personable service (for example airport pickup by the owner!), immaculately clean and great food and drinks available for a fair price. The location next to a local village makes it great; you have all the luxury of a resort but can also get in touch with ‘the real Fiji’. Stunning coral reef just in front of the resort. Great day trips. Loved the outdoor shower!

Make sure to bring your own snorkel gear to enjoy the reef.

Beautiful beachfront bure, great outdoor shower, cozy inside and a nice porch/veranda area

The beachfront Bures were really attractive, cozy and well designed. The outdoor shower was great! You could hear the sea 24/7 right out in front of the cottages. The views over the Somosomo strait were amazing and sunsets were wonderful. Small kitchenette was useful - ground coffee and a cafetiere to use, as well as tea and some cooking stuff. Small, fancy looking pool was fun to use. We were given a warm welcome and Ngaire helped us with any queries we had. There is a nice atmosphere of owners living side-by-side with the workers and cafe/restaurant. It felt like a communal space. There was a store just down the road, as well as an attractive church and other old buildings.

The restaurant had pretty nice fish dishes... tasty pinacoladas and decent pizzas. However, the salads and vegetarian options were pretty lacklustre. My girlfriend paid $28 for a 'green salad', which was just the same salad you got with other dishes, including the tofu dish (not bad), but was still the same price as lots of other main course dishes, which is baffling. There was also an option for a vegetarian burger that didn't have a pattie, only salad, despite there being a vegetarian pattie salad dish. It wasn't clear if there was room service and what the delineation was between the restaurant and the accommodation. And on our checkout day we felt quite rushed. Checkout is stated as being up until 2pm, but our hand was sort of forced to be ready to leave at 10/11am and the housekeeping team came immediately to clean out our bure, under instruction. For the price paid per night, we would have enjoyed a more leisurely checkout.

Relaxing, comfy stay on Taveuni.

Breakfast was tasty and fresh fruit was great. The coffee was good. Our hosts were very on top of everything, very helpful and accommodating. We loved the outdoor shower.

The perfect organised base. loved it

The location is beachfront a short snorkel out to some reef. The owners are so welcoming and have lived there so long, the know they island better than anyone. such lovely people and the hotel is run like a well oiled machine. All their staff are brilliant and so professional. They even went out of their way to bake me a special birthday meal and cake, they make stunning special meals everyday.

very clean and spacious rooms with AC so we slept comfortably every night. we also really liked the breakfast nook attached to the front of the room so we could enjoy breakfast while looking out to the ocean! the hotel is right on the beach with great views of the ocean and mountains in the background. the connected restaurant has the best food on the island (and frankly some of the best we had in two weeks in Fiji). the owners Ngaire and Dennis were very accommodating! we had luggage that had been lost for 6 days by the airline and Ngaire ordered me contact solution from the neighboring island which was a life saver and very considerate. We loved staying at Aroha and would love to come back again!

Awesome Aroha

Beautifully styled self contained bungalows with all you need set right on the beachfront with extra large beds, outdoor showers, large wardrobe, in room safe, fridge & microwave. Amazing sunsets and views. Infinity pool and pool deck for relaxing. Restaurant and bar serving yummy wood fired pizzas plus local and international dishes. Friendly, attentive staff. Able to arrange local tours, snorkelling trips, diving, hiking. Walking distance to local shops.

Magnificent place to stay at and enjoy Taveuni -- highly recommended

Our stay at Aroha Taveuni was awesome, and comparable with our very best resort experiences out of several dozen over the years. Dennis and Ngaire were wonderful hosts, regaling us with interesting anecdotes and going out of their way to make our stay exceptional. The cottage itself was a good size, modern, very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. There was a beautiful beach right outside, great for early morning walks while enjoying spectacular views of the ocean. The restaurant food was great as well, with Ngaire going out of her way to prepare meals for our tastes. The outdoor activities were terrific as well, notably snorkeling at the coral reef and the waterfall hike. The friendly and knowledgeable locals just added to the enjoyment. All in all, this was a truly memorable experience and one that I highly recommend.

The Wifi in the room was a little slow (around 3 Mbps) and sometimes slow to connect -- however, we were still able to watch Netflix and Amazon Prime Video on our laptop at night. Also, during our stay, there were 3 torrential downpours at night that got rather loud. Thankfully, the weather during the days was uniformly magnificent.

Things we loved: Outdoor shower Restaurant and restaurant staff - dinner was amazing Helpfulness of host - host made all reservations on our behalf and picked us up from the airport Pool Beautiful location

We would have liked an email prior to arrival with excursion recommendations. Some of the excursions required 24 hour prior notification for booking, and since we were only there for two nights it would have been nice to book activities prior to arriving. The flowers around the room were beautiful, but the ones on the restroom attracted a lot of ants! I’d maybe avoid putting them on that counter as it made me not want to place my toiletries there.

Outstanding location on the water with a beautiful view. The staff is so friendly and kind. They always have a smile on their faces and remember your name. We had the family bure which is large with 2 full bedrooms and bathrooms and is clean and comfortable. Listening to the waves at night was mesmerizing. Ngaire arranged for Jim to take us to the other side of the island for the Lavena Coastal Walk and Boat Tour which did not disappoint. Jim was engaging and gave us quite the tour of the island and information about the people of Fiji in general. He was especially helpful in getting us to see the Pearl Factory as well. He loaned us fins and a boogie board and advised us about snorkeling the area. Super fun to talk to! The food at the restaurant is high quality and very good. Everything is cooked fresh and with generous portions. We had a late afternoon flight out of Taveuni and Dennis and Ngaire allowed us to stay in their day use bure to continue our day swimming, getting massages, and snorkeling and eating, even showering until it was time to leave. So grateful for that!! We were so happy with our stay at Aroha Taveuni and have only positive things to report. Definetly would return!!!
