Our extended family enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing week at the Chelsea House. The home was spacious and comfortable for our multi-generational group of 16. A well-appointed home, incredible views and highly attentive host helped make our Thanksgiving one to remember.

First and Foremost I am not writing this fishing for some money refund as owner Tony accuses most recent reviewers.
House is as presented on VRBO. Wonderful 24 hours day views of gorgeous Pacific Ocean La Jolla, surfers, Etc. Beach access as easily accomplished as advertised.
Owner(s) not caring for property to levels property deserves. Essential sliding glass doors to patio views, pool, etc almost impossible to slide open and close. Elevator hardly works in a house highly vertical. We counted ten levels connected with stairs. All OK yet for those non stairs folks too difficult.
Upon arrival pool and jacuzzi dirty and cleaned for our final day during which we discovered these enjoyable. house manager Tim was very responsive and kind. House simply needs deferred maintenance issues fixed and fixed soon.
Bifurcated house basically two sides each with five or so levels connected with one another on couple of common levels. All in all a wonderful time far as sleeping accommodations, views and beach access, common areas, kitchen functionality, Etc.
Again, owners need to keep up this multimillion dollar party house!!!

I was frustrated because I was told the property manager would be in touch with me beforehand. This didn't happen. Wanted to know simple things like if we could leave our luggage there before check-in time so we didn't have to rent a car to keep our luggage in. Also, would have been nice to know that coffee wasn't included, simple things that could have been taken care of beforehand with a simple yes or no answer. Also, the master bedroom door to the pool area did not lock, nor did the gate on the side of the house that goes to the pool area. Had to put a chair with a vase on it at night so that if someone tried to come into the house, I would know.

My extended family stayed here for 4 days in Sept. With my 92 yr old mom, the elevator was a great feature. The location and size of this house is what sets it apart from the others. We enjoyed amazing weather and savored every moment watching surfers and beachgoers just a rocks throw away. Several balconies, pickleball court, media room, etc. etc., such that it was difficult to find people at times. Every room was nicely appointed and the kitchen was fully stocked. The check in went smoothly and Tim explained everything about the property. I had a few questions and they were promptly answered.
The only reason I didn't give this a five star rating is due to some deferred maintenance. Many of the blinds in the home are broken or missing and as it was warm during this time, the home needed shade from the afternoon sun. Two sliding doors were too difficult to open by some of the guests. I found some Wd-40 and made it better but they need some attention. The washing machine sounds like it will break apart. The handle in the lower bathroom sink just falls off, and the stopper is inoperable.
The stay was still lovely, and once these items are addressed, it would be a 10 star property.

Our group of 13 had an amazing time at this beautiful property. With so many spots to sit and enjoy the magnificent views, everyone had their own space yet could gather comfortably in all the common areas. The interior of the home was clean and had plenty of amenities, plus extra towels and blankets. Adults and kids alike loved the game room, and we used the movie theater room several times. During our stay we made several trips to the local market on the golf cart that was provided, which was both fun and convenient.
The only issue we had with the property was that the area around the pool and spa was dirty. It wasn't very noticeable when dry but when we swam the first night and water splashed out from our kids jumping in and out, or us walking to and from the spa, the area became muddied. We hosed the area off the next morning and I notified the property manager of the issue. He was very responsive and while obviously, nothing could be done about the stone around the pool, he had the pool and spa serviced and clean for us early that day. We continued to enjoy the outdoor area for the rest of our stay.
Overall, we loved the home and would absolutely return for another stay. Thank you, Tony and Tim!

This was a large family gathering including 5 children, 13 adults. Very comfortable accommodation with pool, hot tub, pickle ball court, pool table, theater room, lots of outside deck space, located on beach. We hired a chef to come in one night which worked out well. No immediate beach access, need to walk a bit but less than half mile. Golf cart available for those who do not want to walk. We were very pleased with the house.

The location is great, clean house and plenty of stuff to keep the kids busy. The house can use some updating. Maybe a new hot tub, replace one shower head for master bathroom and other little things. But overall we enjoyed the house with beautiful views.

The home was absolutely perfect for the fifteen of us. The views were breathtaking as the house sits on a cliff overlooking the Pacific where surfers were active from morning till night. While the pool was a bit cold, several of the kids enjoyed it and the hot tub was utilized a few times a day. The pickle ball court was a real bonus and a very creative use of the roof.
We were there for a milestone birthday and could not have been more pleased. Easy access to the sights of San Diego and a quick drive to La Jolla. The large dining room table was able to seat all of us. The caterers who Tony recommended were superb for the four dinners we were there for. Simon and Tim, the managers were very pleasant and responsive.. We would return in a hearbeat!!!

Absolutely loved our stay at this property, the view is worth it alone. The house is slightly dated, renovations are happening now though, but even without them the house is still gorgeous and the views are spectacular.

We stayed here for 5 nights with friends and family ranging in age from 15 months to 62 years old. No one complained about a thing, in fact everyone was thrilled with the accomodations overall.
I barely wanted to leave the house, however my fiance and I were getting married at a nearby beach so I had to leave on Friday for that. But seriously, this place is great, close to tourist attractions, shops, food, and beaches. You can't go wrong renting this house.

This property somehow looks even more jaw dropping in person, the pictures really don't do it justice. Clean, elegant, with all the amenities you could ask for, it is the perfect place to come back and enjoy after being out and about in San Diego. The golf cart is super convenient (and really fun!) for zipping around La Jolla and making grocery runs - no need to travel more than 10 min.
There are plenty of common areas to have a nice dinner or just relax, and the sauna/hot tub/heated pool provide great relaxation. This place is something out of a movie, and while you might feel it's too good to be true, it's not!
I would absolutely recommend anyone stay here. Tony was a pleasure to deal with, very responsive to all my queries and the property manager met us on time and left his number should we have any concerns. Already looking forward to our next stay

There were 17 in our group that were supposed to stay at this supposedly “beautiful” property. We were so disgusted when we arrived, not a single person wanted to stay. We frantically got hotels for 17 people, as we had planned on staying 7 nights. We weren’t comfortable allowing our children to simply walk on the floor, as it was absolutely filthy.
We contacted them and were told this property has a no refund and no cancellation policy (of course they do!) We were told we could not refuse the property and that we were stuck with it. Other companies let you refuse the property.
*FILTHY house, dirt has literally been painted over in windows which should have been replaced 10 years ago and are black around the edges with mold and dirt. Everything smelled of must and mold.
*MOLD growing on hinges throughout the home in EVERY room.
*SNOT was found in curtains which have never been cleaned, EVER.
*BLOOD was found in curtains which, as mentioned, had never been cleaned.
*POOP brown stains were found on the floor which looked to be poop from dogs or?
*BROKEN tiles throughout the house.
*FILTHY carpets throughout the home that should have been replaced years ago.
*DENTS & RUST found on all appliances.
*FRAUD via cash app as they will contact you for early check in + more days if only you will send them un refundable money.
*OLD workout equipment had tears & brown stains.
*WINDOWS have not been replaced since the home was built. They have black MOLD growing in the corners/edges. Same with light switches and fixtures etc not replaced since new and coated with gross substances.
*SHOWERS were so disgusting and unclean we could not imagine bathing or showering even in the MASTER BATHROOM.
*FIREPLACES had dripping substances running down the old glass fronts and had never been cleaned.
*PATIOS outside had broken filthy tiles.
*BBQ was black with age and use and did not work when they gave us a "tour" of this "home."
*FIREPIT had never been cleaned along with the cheap and ripped/stained patio furniture surrounding it.
*POOL was filthy and needed more than just cleaning.
HOT TUB was filthy and about 10+ years old.
We did not stay more than a hour. We stayed just long enough to take pictures of how disgusting this place was for proof.
We are now stuck with 30k paid to this scam artist + all other expenses incurred. We will be seeking legal action as we have picture to prove all of this and cannot get a refund from these scammers.

A truly incredible listing -- the amenities make it an easy place to enjoy for a weekend: pool/hot tub area, pickleball roof deck, other large balcony to grill/eat on, home theatre to watch sports or a movie, etc. The location was also perfect, a short walk to beach and grocery store, and short drive or scooter trip to PB. Host was easy to work with and check-in / check-out was smooth. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The jaw-dropping views, the pool, the hot tub, the movie theater, the game room, pickle ball court, outside grill, the fire pit, and the golf cart all provided continuous entertainment for 16 family members ranging in age from 1-70. The beach is a 10-15 minute walk from the house. There is a boardwalk 3 miles from the house with an arcade and assorted rides.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfy and easily accommodated my family.
Parents provided barriers in front of two stairwells leading from the main kitchen to the living room. These barriers made it safer for the young children. Those 5 and older were able to navigate the stairs easily. This is not a good property for anyone with mobility issues. Stairs are everywhere.
The owner provided excellent resources for chef services, baby rental equipment, and grocery delivery services prior to our arrival.
Upon arrival, property manager, Tim, told us that the elevator was broken and that one of the showers did not have hot water due to a broken thermostatic valve. The shower was fixed mid-week. The elevator was never repaired during our 8 night stay. A television didn’t work, but was quickly replaced. The lower rack of the main dishwasher lacked some wheels so it was difficult to push on the tracks with ease. It leaked water so we discontinued using it for our last 2 nights.
In spite of the inconveniences, everyone without exception had an awesome stay. The weather was perfect and Tim was responsive. A memorable week!

The house was a great place to have a large group of friends. There are so many things to do right at the house, including sit in the living area and watch the surfers and sunsets. Perfect views and lots of fun using the movie theatre room and pickle ball courts.

I booked this property for a ladies beach trip about a year in advance. Everyone had their own bedroom which was perfect for our group. The owner is very responsive and responded to all of my questions. At one point I also called him directly to ask questions before the trip and he answered immediately. The property is incredible and huge and also in a perfect location. It was amazing to wake up to beach front views and see hundreds of surfers in the ocean. There are many restaurants, coffee shops, other stores in walking distance. I didn't realize this until we arrived and we ended up not touching our rental car at all. Ubers are also really affordable in this area. We came from Boston area, so I didn't expect that. It is super easy to walk the beach in front of the house every morning before high tide.
We used the movie room, speaker system throughout the house, heated pool and hot tub. The golf cart was also a blast. The dishwasher and laundry work great as well. We took advantage of the private chef listing. The chef was great and said he had been to this house many times before and knew where to find mostly everything in the kitchen. My advice to others who plan to do this - book the chef for the beginning of the trip because there are lots of leftovers.

The pictures truly don't do this place justice and the location, house, pool/roof (even the piano too!) are second to none. We had a slight issue with getting early check-in figured out, but the rest of the communications and coordination w/ Tony, Tim and Simon was perfect, even with our stupid questions. We will definitely be back to the house and highly recommend others to book this special place!

Wonderful home. Amazing views and ambiance. I love La Jolla in general but the non-stop show of the surfers just below us is incredible...sometimes over 100 of them. The kite surfers put on an even better show. This house is what SoCal is all about.

Beautiful home, incredible views! Plenty of space for our family to be together and to spread out in our own rooms. We used the grill one night, worked great! Hottub worked as expected, pool was clean, just a lil chilly for our weekend. Sauna helped offset the cooler weather. Golf cart came in handy a few times also. We loved the home and did I mention the views!!!!? Great neighborhood also, lots of great restaurants nearby as well. Thank you Tony for an incredible weekend we will all remember!

This is a great property for a guys trip. There was more than enough space to do it all with a beautiful view of the pacific from the pool area and ample kitchen space to cook food. We made the most of the property you’ll enjoy it too.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. There are so many rooms to just sit and view the gorgeous ocean and surfers. The bedrooms are all spread out throughout the house giving all the guests lots of privacy. The elevator was very helpful loading and unloading our groceries and suitcases. I would also recommend using dinnerwithachef.com They made our family reunion perfect. The one thing I would tell people is there are lots of stairs and levels which can be difficult for some people.

Expensive, but an amazing property with amazing views. I would echo the other comments that many of the appliances (especially in the kitchen) are long overdue for replacement. That being said the hosts were extremely responsive and the check-in process was great. And the view and location makes you quickly forget about the appliance details. Worth staying at so long as you know that going in.
